The judges have mentioned several times over the years that they see the rehearsals so they have a chance to gather their thoughts before hand. But like last year with Paula's incident her handlers knows she needs help so I am sure they write down a few things for her to use and I am sure she makes notes as she watches the rehearsals and then after the performance she may or may not use them depending on the actual live televised performance. I don't think in anyway that AI is trying to set people up or rig it in anyway. Except for the occasional emotional pimp-out of a favorite who is stumbling it is a fair shake all around. It is live so they don't have scripts so they do the best they can to prepare for what is going to happen during the performance.

Sorry to get in so late Silent-Jonny. I see Dial idol has Kris at the bottom. I sure hopes he does not go home and he gets a chance to redeem himself.

My top three would be Allison, Adam, and Danny. Danny because he brought it at the end of the song. The rest for me was like who cares. sigh* It is sad because they were some really great songs for them to choose from. Whoever is helping them pick needs to be fired.

Bottom three for me Lil, Scott, and Anoop. They are just boring me. Great potential but just not happening.

Oh, well that makes sense.

Thanks, Cap’n...I really wouldn’t enjoy watching Idol if I felt the results were rigged.

I didn’t see Adam’s performance that everyone’s raving about, my darn Moxi box stopped the recording at 1 hour.

I just got this in email, from some blog: I hope it’s not true!

“There’s a ton of stuff rigged on Idol. For example, it’s true that the singers with the highest votes stay on the show, and those with the lowest votes get thrown off. What they don’t tell you is, when the producers decide to eliminate a contestant, they just have the phone company shut down the lines after a certain time. That way, they can legally say, “well, so-and-so only got 50,000 votes.” That’s true — because the line was only open for 20 minutes.”

Yikes!

Ed

I believe Adam is American’s Idol.

Yep.

I don't know about the Brian Wilson comparison, but Adam is absolutely brilliant. I thought his Ring of Fire was pure genius even if the judges didn't get it.

If anyone but Adam wins, it will be a travesty.

Adam is in the middle of the pack in my opinion.

Middle of the pack? You've got to be kidding!

Adam is so far above the pack that there's no point in continuing with the show.

Just declare Adam the winner now and let him sing every song on every show for the remainder of the season.

As Simon said, Adam is in a league of his own. Has Simon every given anyone else a standing ovation?

Good luck on whatever you decide to do. You will make the best decision for you, but applying for a job is a little different than partying in St. Maarten :>

Good Luck!!!

I found it on the intergore....down right incredible if you ask me. I love that song and thought he did an amazing version. Simon giving him a standing O is unprecedented. He is as close to Jeff Buckley as I have seen and that is a very, very good thing.

Brian Wilson - great analogy. My comparison has been to Jeff Buckley. Buckley had the ability to sing anything and had an incredible range. Listen to his Grace album and the Live at Sin-E bootleg album and you'll hear a lot of what Adam does. Brilliant vocals. Not sure Adam can play guitar like Jeff did though...

just did a search and they do still make it but not in the original four flavors we had growing up...

the one at Cracker Barrel is the original flavors. I got some for my girls the last time we went.

The “Back To The Future” soundtrack for me :)

I have that record! And I do mean record not the tape. I pulled all of them out a long time ago to see what I had. The most embarrassing would be the New EDition one. LOL Of course Prince’s Purple Rain is kinda scary too. :/

He might have broken a nail ;)

Or chipped the polish! the scary thing is that his dad and mom seem so normal! What happened to him that he is so out there and in your face? Usually those types had a bizarre family life.

The shutting down of phone lines has always been a potential. Giving certain singers the pimp spot more than others and some not getting it at all, is another way they can sway voters. The judges comments of course are another. But, yeah, shutting down the phone lines is a biggy.

Too often I hear a contestant saying they were ‘forced’ to do a song they didn’t want. They were told to do a particular song by AI/judges. I wish I could recall who they were that said that. To me, that is a biggy.

I know he can’t help it, but STOP STARING AT ME!

LOL! I couldn't watch him sing last night--I just kept typing until he was finished

my eyes burn and tear up

:-/ I hate that! So far I'm allergy free--that's unusual now that I think about it. We had three days of heavy rain recently so maybe that kept the pollen out of the air. But I'm sure my eyes will be itching and burning before long :o

The producers probably don't say anything for the same reason.

Can you imagine Simon saying "And I don't want to be cruel, Scott, but we have GOT to get you some sunglasses. There were times during your performance that I feared for my life."

Gasps and horrified boos from the audience :)

I had that one, too!

I can't believe anyone else had the Back To The Future soundtrack--LOL!!

For years that was the only album that had Power of Love and Back In Time--no self-respecting Huey Lewis fan's collection would be complete without it :)

"You're just too darn loud."
