I can’t stand them either. Melissa is gone now and Joan left with her, but I think Joan will be back.

Lol yeah I just saw that had it TiVo'ed. I was glad also. I mean wow Melissa turned into a super girl dog at the end. Everything Melissa and Joan were saying about everyone else they themselves were the most guilty of. Lol. And for Joan to say that the show is not about raising money made her even more ignorant sounding. That is the only reason they are there is to raise money for charity.

Yep you got that right Joan will be back she loves the limelight too much. LOL

Err, what? Tell me you ain’t like that. Adam is a homo to be sure , but why should his gayness itself matter? It’s his theatrics that make him annoying, IMO.

Anyway, yay for Kris! :)

You are killing me with the shoes. Have you been to eluxury.com? They’re having a great sale on “things I don’t really need but must have”.

Oh, and bless you for that lesson— I just clomped by my husband in a pair of new very high heels and I said “I’m almost 40, it’s about time I learned to wear these!”. I’m watching tivo’d idol & reading this thread, but delighted to find posts more in line with what’s important, such as fashion!

OMG, you’re a sicko! And I love Matt, but man, seriously, they have things they can do to easily get rid of that!

Clint Black is much more of a jerk than I realized. And Annie is horrible. I’ve actually gained a bit of respect for Joan. I always knew she was a witch, but I didn’t know she could be such a hard worker.

Hm, you and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum here ... I have to say I was verrrrry pleased to see Matt get the boot, since I am not a fan of his singing at all. And I have to admit I've giggled at some of the comments about Das Mole. BUT, in all fairness, I don't think it really is that easy to get rid of a large mole. My husband has a big ol' mole right in the middle of his forehead that has appeared there in the last couple of years, and it is NOT a pretty sight, but when he asked his doc about it, the doc first examined it to make sure it was not cancerous ... and then said, well, take your pic whether you want a mole or a scar there. You can freeze off warts, but a mole has to be taken out surgically (or so I am told). So then you have a scar. I think this information is probably accurate, since I had a pre-cancerous wart in my armpit about three years ago that had to be removed. (What? Is this TMI? Sorry!! :) Anyway, I now have a scar there that is much larger than the original mole.

Besides opera singers and some great entertainers in Vegas, who really put on a show each night, not to many have that much control to attempt it live. Props to him for going out on a limb with that ending. I can pretty sure that he is practicing twice as much as the rest in the house to give a vocal like that.

Yup. I totally agree. It's true that Adam has been a little repetitious, choosing to showcase his big talent (those extraordinary high notes!) in the same way each week... but jeez, if I could do that, I'd probably want to show it off every week too! :) I have great respect for his vocal ability. Actually, I've thought it is a bit of a shame that his taste did not tend toward opera rather than pop, since I think he might have made a very good countertenor, and those have come back into vogue the last few years in the opera world.

As for the unpleasant photos circulating on the Internet (his kissing other men, etc.), I have to say in his defence that young people today basically have their entire lives documented, what with everyone snapping cell phone pictures all the time and posting them. So indiscretions that might never have seen the light of day 20 years ago now are part of the permanent public record. And gay young men have a LOT of opportunities for stupid indiscretions, since there are a lot of older gay men who basically prey on them, seeing them as nothing more than an available body. It is a much more cutthroat world than the heterosexual dating world. Of course, the cross-dressing and so forth does not bother me the way it does some others, since I spent a lot of time in the theater myself. But I guess I am just asking for a little charity for Adam. He never gave the judges any attitude, and to me, he still seems overawed at the reaction he gets from the audience when he sings, rather than taking it as his due. He seems like a nice young man in a lot of ways.

I know what you mean. I un-muted him just in time to hear him lie and say he'd LOVE smaller government.

Smaller, as in micro-managing as opposed to the large and distant federal government, I'm sure.

For anyone on a carb-control diet, I’ve found that a mix of 4 parts carbalose flour to 1 part flax seed meal to 1 part coconut flour makes an excellent replacement for regular flour (reduce amount of “flour” by 25% and add an extra 2 eggs per cup of “flour”). This mix has 14 effective carbs per cup, and I’ve used it to make great pancakes and muffins.

Thanks for a thoughtful post. These are all young adults, and competing on an entertainment show.

They are subject to a public approval, and unlike our elected officials actually can be booted off after we see what they deliver.....

My wife and I appreciate all their talents, but feel Adam is the best pure singer and judge him that way.

Agree that he’s showy but also recognize his humility, and if you happen to watch any of the other Idol related shows you’d pick up a comment , from the other contestants, that he is the one that they seek advice from.

Tells us something about his character, in addition to their respect for his ability.

They had to shorten AF1 and it looks like one of those Fischer-Price airplanes.

LOL!! I had one of those planes when I was little. I think they had a string on the nose and I could pull the plane around after me.

Sigh ... it was a simpler time :)

Adam should be in a broadway production of Hello Dolly.

I think he should be Mr. Mistoffelees from Cats.
