Pit Bull Attacks 5 Year Old Boy

A family says they are traumatized after nearly losing a 5-year old boy to a vicious dog attack. A neighbor walks outside his home to see what he thought were two dogs fighting, but he quickly realized, it wasn't two dogs, it was a pit bull viciously attacking a 5 year old boy.

It's a scene out of a nightmare, seeing a helpless child being mauled by a dog. 5 year old C.J. Narcisse and three of his friends were outside jumping on a trampoline Thursday afternoon when they say a loose pit bull jumped in.

"And he came down the street from here, and they said he jumped in the trampoline with the children, and the children started running out the trampoline and some kinda way he grabbed my son." said Carl Narcisse

As 5 year old C.J. and 3 other children were jumping in the trampoline, the pit bull jumped inside. The children jumped out and ran, But C.J. didn't get very far.

"the dog jumped on the trampoline and I jumped on the truck. He pulled me down and I was on the ground." said 5 year old C.J.

C.J. tried to jump in the back of his neighbors truck next door.

"But the dog grabbed him from the back and drug him into the yard next door." said Narcisse

That's when next door neighbor George Mitchell walked outside to a scene he says he will never forget.

"I dove on the dog, I ain't have time, cause I was in my slippers, I just ran out the house and I seen what was goin on, and I just dove on the dog." said George Mitchell

Now Mitchell says, he's just thankful that a life wasn't taken.

"I know he is going though some trauma. I'm going through some trauma about this. This ain't nothing to play with, a life could have been lost." said Mitchell

5-year old C.J. had to have 200 stitches in his face and lost four teeth. The owner of the pit bull, 22 year old Kristen Boyd was arrested and charged with with a host of charges including unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog, and disturbing the peace.

While a pit bull may make a great watch dog, it is not a good pet.

But they sure do report as many bites as they can, and then you spring into action to carry their water.

That boy is lucky the neighbor showed up, otherwise he would have died a horrible death. It's still pretty traumatic.

The owner of the dog should get jail time.
