The former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell has claimed that aliens exist and their visits are being covered up by the United States government. Mitchell is in good company in his beliefs. Here we highlight 12 other public figures...[Snip]
Ronald Reagan, US President from 1980 to 1988, "I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around. I went up to the pilot and said, 'Have you ever seen anything like that?' He was shocked and he said, 'nope.' And I said to him: 'Let's follow it!' We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light. We followed it to Bakersfield, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement it went straight up into the heavens. When I got off the plane I told Nancy all about it." [snip]

Edgar Mitchell is a close friend of mine and as the fates would have it we lived in Roswell at the same time but did not know each other. I saw the Roswell debris first hand and recognized its unique properties and all I can say is that it did not appear to be of human manufacture. I have over 3500 hrs in military helicopters but have not seen a genuine ufo. The closest was in Iraq when I was flying from Tikrit to LSA Anaconda in a Blackhawk when I and the crew spotted a white light at low altitude traveling towards Turkey. But it was just a light in the sky where there should not have been one so who knows. I am hopeful our government will fess up with what it knows about ufo’s as I think a lot of our fellow Freepers will be shocked. Ok to flame me, I have a thick skin. Regards!!
Heard that!
Yeah, people who believe in UFOs are so annoying. They just keep over-reacting to multiple self-controlled, moving, blinking, shape-shifting, gigantic disks moving about NASA spacecraft, when it’s obvious all of that is just “debris.”

“I saw the Roswell debris first hand”
You were there on the scene in Roswell, NM on July 7, 1947, and you also recently flew a Blackhawk in Iraq (in your 80’s or so?). You are certainly a remarkable man.
Thanks.
Most of us with the ping lists are busy. Sigh.
guess we need yet another colleague helper!
You volunteering?
Thanks tons for your kind report. There must be 20-30 FREEPRS who have had personal experiences or close relatives who worked around such.
that is, FREEPERS who have told Las Vegas Dave and/or I about such things over the years on FR.
Of course, the clueless naysayers are still haughtily incredulous even toward FREEPERS OWN PERSONAL REPORTS.
Cheeky, arrogant bustards.
LOL.
THX.
Sounds like you have assumed that there’s no logical reasonable explanation.
“Sounds like you have assumed that theres no logical reasonable explanation.”
For what?
Having seen debris and being in Iraq.
Sounds like you assumed he HAD to have seen the debris IN ROSWELL
IN 1947.
Lots of other options are possible.
Ping for your commentary Jesseam;
You’re assuming we meager humans have discovered all the aspects of spacetime necessary to set the limits of distance, time, mass, energy, dimensional transitions. It’s a common assumption, but naive at best.
If I surmise correctly, thank you for your service to your country, and for your father’s as well...

No flame, I agree. I don’t think there are ET’s, but publish the info- I have an open mind.
You’ve surmised correctly, but let it stop with that. There are downrigth meanspirited people who love to smash and burn on these UFO threads.
“Having seen debris and being in Iraq. Sounds like you assumed he HAD to have seen the debris IN ROSWELL IN 1947.

Well he he might have seen “debris” at the Roswell, NM “Believe It Or Not!” museum, but that wouldn’t meet my definition of “first hand” evidence. Unless he was out there in the desert at the crash site before the military arrived, or else part of the military team collecting the debris, his testimony doesn’t rise to the level of evidence.
Assuming he was a 5 year old boy in 1947, he’d be flying a Blackhawk chopper in Iraq in his 60’s — conceivable, but rather unlikely. I’m willing to believe almost anything if it is properly documented — you might even convince me that Barry Obama is a US citizen! My medical student daughter razzes me because I’m willing to credit double-blinded placebo-controlled studies that show that homeopathy possibly works. When I see real evidence I will respect it, but so far the only thing the UFO enthusiasts have established is there really are some strange and so far unexplained phenomena out there. My guess is that Roswell 1947 isn’t one of them. It’s always possible that I am mistaken.
He could be in his 40-50’s and have worked around such debris/technologies.
INDEED.
And that’s the main reason I’ve gotten so prickly toward naysayers. They have earned it many times over . . . for many years.
