More proof Europeans discovered America, not “Indians.”

They were Bama fans. Awesome.

Ok, even I got a chuckle out of that.

I think we need to thank God that this article wasn’t about an epic carving on a mammoth bone on South Beach.

One cana’t be too careful about your reading material these days, Although I suppose the monitors would have suppressed it.

This also brings up the subject of why there are so many mammoth articles about mammoths these days. I’ve been a lonely prophet, pointing this phenomenon out to Sunkn Civ for lo these many months. Doesn’t anyone have any concern about a mammoth plot?

Go ahead. Make fun of me. But when there are thousands of cloned mammoths runnin up and down the countryside, destroying crops and wind farms and ethanol plants and you wind up walking to work from your dark house, you’ll wish you had listened to me.

By the way, I’m glad to see ya back posting again. Missed your inquiring mind and expertise.

Given the age of the item, I think the artist may have been Bear Bryant.

“It looks too accurate, like it was drawn by a 20th century artist rather than a stone age artist.”

I’d like to see what ancient and prehistoric art experts have to say on this.

A 12-14,000 year old carving rendered in full 3-D depth perspective, almost perfectly proportioned?

Interesting. Maybe if they dig around that area some more they’ll find a large black monolith.

I always have used FR for surfin a wide range of political articles. But lately I’m so down about the political situation I find myself skipping a lot of those articles I used to read so avidly and just reading the archeological and historical stuff.

If it wasn’t for the GGG stuff, I’d be in and out myself. It helps me keep my sense of humor as well as interest.

I feel the same. The political news is so depressing. Either Zero is here announcing another dumb program or he's traveling the world apologizing.

But GGG always has some fresh, interesting and thought provoking stuff.

Scientists are puzzled if this was an advertisement for a circus coming to town or a then new mastadon broiler restaurant chain...

The grand opening of a General Mastodon Dealership.

Congratulations on your discovery. And I mean that. And welcome.

Around these parts we mix a bit of levity with debate and discussion. Nothing mean spirited was meant by the comment and I was not among those questioning the authenticity, just the meaning of the artifact.
