E-Cigarette Review (Vanity)
Free Republic | June 15, 2009 | Eric Blair

Posted on 06/15/2009 6:08:02 PM PDT by Eric Blair 2084

I am habitually late to the latest technology. I just got an HDTV 2 months ago. I am ready to throw it in the ocean because some people are just too ugly to be seen in Hi Def...but I digress...

I was embarrassed that everyone else had heard of e-cigarettes before I did and I'm supposed to be the nanny state guy on FR (let me just throw myself on the mercy of the court like Jim Baker and say "I'm sorry, I have sinned!")

It would be nice to stick it to the man and at least pretend to smoke anywhere while getting my nicotine.

So I ordered them to try it out. I bought them from NJOY for no other reason than their owner was in the news and seemed willing to fight the entrenched powers (tobacco control, big Pharma, big Tobacco) in public and I liked his style. I have no interest in pimping a product.

It came in a nice package with all of the responsible disclaimers that you would expect when you know that the fetid breath of gubmint will soon be breathing down your neck....not for kids, nicotine is addictive, for current smokers.

Readers Digest version:

Cons: I don't get the same nicotine buzz I get from the Ultra Light tobacco cigarette I normally smoke.

Pros: I can smoke them in my office, they don't stink and I don't feel like taking a cigarette break all day.

Conclusion: I'm not sure if nico-Nazis and grant junkies need to be concerned that this will cause everyone to quit tobacco completely and force them to get a real job befitting someone of their skills like being a supermarket deli meat slicer.

A friend of mine got a e-cig. Not sure from where, have to find out. Has the nicotine and also has a vaporizer built in, you get the smoke effect.

I want to get one.

With fresh battery and cart, the smoke hit is JUST like an analogue ciggy. I vaped in the office today for my 9am hit...did pretty well.

They were selling some e-cigarettes at the San Diego fair and I almost went for it. They were smoking them inside and the vapor looked just like cigarette smoke. I imagine the Powers That Be will somehow try and get e-ciggies included under "smoke-free" laws as they look so much like actual smoking that someone using this in a public place is apt to start a panic.

Can't wait to see what happens to the first guy who "vapes" on a plane! LOL! People are gonna freak!!!

Don't the e cigs have different strengths?

I got the strongest one from NJOY just so I could err on the side of caution. 18 mg. I still didn’t get a buzz. The unscientific explanation I heard from former tobacco smokers on the e cigarette forum was that there is no carbon monoxide.

Maybe there is a FReeper here who works in the Philip Morris labs who can explain it.

I don’t have the answer. I’m just a horse tooth jackass with a modem. (other HTJ’s won’t mess with me, I am the king of HTJ’s and would kick their ass up and down the sidewalk for public amusement and they know it :-)

Bullcrap, that's befitting their skill level! I don't want blood from their skanky aids-infected liberal fingers on my deli slices!

AHEM! Thankee, sai!

Well, smoked for 30 years. I began in the fifth grade when I was eleven years old.

Yes. ELEVEN.

FReepers here know me as one of the most vocal fighters for the rights of smokers, and opponent of all who would inflict rabid discriminatory bigotry against them.
I invented the term, "Tobaccophobe."
From American citizens to the government -who seeks to tax smokers into slavery. Trapped into paying for the obscene spending that Washington is still addicted to, by their own addiction to nicotine.

I went the same, expected route of buying cigarettes online, then buying off-brand online, to finally rolling my own from bulk tobacco. When SCHIP was signed by Obama (Raising the price from $12.00 per pound to almost $50.00) I was going to attempt to grow my own tobacco. I bought ten pounds of pre-SCHIP tobacco and the seeds and gear needed to start growing in the spring. But I didn't know if that would be enough.

True to form as my luck usually is, my seeds never sprouted.

So, I went here: E-Cigarette Forum
I read and studied. I asked many questions of the posters there and gained as much knowledge as I could. Then, I took the plunge

On Saturday the 23rd of May of this year, I received a package in the mail. Inside was the DSE-901:

Blind taste test, there is no difference to me. They do, in fact, taste SO MUCH better.
I haven't had a tobacco cigarette since that evening.

So, I ordered The Screwdriver.

Now, I'm using a combo of both of them along with the BE-112, plenty of extra parts for the devices, and have enroute the items for making my own refilling liquids in these wonderful flavors:
Cheesecake
Vanilla
Strawberry
Blueberry
Champagne
Bavarian Creme

And here's the best part of all:
Obama gets MY middle finger every time I whip out my ecigarette.
I pass out little cards to all who ask that details the functions of the ecigarette, increasing our number.
MORE people giving the middle finger.

Now, this tobacco bill that passed and is on it's way to Obama's desk does two things.
The bill orders nicotine content in cigarettes to DECREASE. Smokers will have to smoke even MORE to compensate for this.
Killing them even faster.
The bill also gives Phillip Morris exclusivity as they are already prepared to implement all of the provisions -they will have a tobacco monopoly.
And I guarantee that ecigarettes are a threat to this plan of PM and Obama.
Why?
Because of people like me. People who have quit smoking completely overnight.

Help us. Increase our number and flip the bird to Obama at the same time.

Send other smokers to E-Cigarette Forum

I apologize.

I didn’t mean to demean my fellow hard working Americans who do a real job like slicing our deli meat.

11? You’re killing me in the eyes of Statists who think that only kids start smoking.

I started smoking as an adult in college.

They could probably manage to wheel the meat from the loading dock to the deli, still in the plastic, without doing any harm. Liberals + sharp objects + my food == No thank you.

My Dad smoked, my Mom did not.
Whenever my Dad lit up in the car or nearby (Back when people weren’t thrown into lion cages for committing a crime), the very first exhalation was one of the nicest smells I’d known at the time.

I didn’t have any idea that it was so brief of a scent. If one starts smoking, it’s not ever smelled again.

That, plus I was a big Godzilla fan.

(I’m real suprised the tobaccophobes haven’t tried banning/suing Toho Studios by now!)

To: RandallFlagg; anyone

Any chance that some ecig manufacturer is working on something to make these devices deliver nicotine like a real tobacco cig?

That guy or gal would be a millionaire in 12 seconds.

The eliquids have MORE than the average cigarette if you order the 36mg liquids.

I was the geek and “brain” whose ass you kicked and shoved into the locker in High School. I ran Track but didn’t quite run it fast enough to compete in division 1A. 51.45 in the 400m was nice in HS. Not very good against brothers running 47.

I was lonely and 200 miles away from home as Freshman in college so I walked into 7-11 and bought a pack of Marlboro Reds. No apparent reason to me.

God has his reason for everything though. Here I am.

The Allen Carr book saved my life, I hope. Amazing that the idiotic nannies haven’t picked up on the most simple, effective way to allow smokers to free themselves. Apparently, the nannies would rather have people who are trying to quit waste $40 on a box of nicotine gum that won’t work for 90 percent of them. Unreal.

I guess the success would depend on whether you want to quit or are being forced to quit.

Oh, the freaks (Smokers/metalheads/weedsmokers)at my school weren’t into kicking anyone’s asses. We were all too busy wondering what the plans were for the weekends. Parties and such.

All I did was smoke, though. Was working a job at the same time.
