Obama's birth certificate: Final chapter. This time we mean it!
St. Petersburg Times ^ | 7/1/09 | Robert Fartley

Back on June 27, 2008, PolitiFact published a story we hoped would put the whole Obama birth certificate controversy to rest. It ran under the now-laughable headline, "Obama's birth certificate: Final chapter."

Oh, how naive we were.

More than a year later, the debate continues to rage on the Internet among the "Birthers" movement, people who doubt that President Barack Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen and is therefore ineligible to serve as president. Or at least, they say, Obama has yet to sufficiently prove things one way or the other.

Today, we examine two claims:

• WorldNetDaily's owners took out an ad saying White House spokesman Robert Gibbs "lied" when he said President Obama's birth certificate is posted on the Internet. We ruled that statement False .

But how did they scrub it from the Internet Archive? That’s what puzzles me.

Beckwith,

I went to the Opensecrets.org site and checked out who the Internet Archive organization donated to. This explains a bit.

Both Politfact and Factcheck spread the lie that these birth announcements came directly from Vital Records and nowhere else.

However, in speaking to both papers, they confirmed that these ads were often supplied by parents or family.

Biglook has mentioned a lot of material on this board that hasn’t been followed up on by people that are supposedly supporting the ‘cause’, WND is one of them. There are a number of Red Herring workers embedded in this ‘cause’.

“These are just people who have jobs and live normal lives......and most likely vote Democrat automatically, thanks to the Burn’s Machine that pushed for their inclusion in the first place. I doubt they’d testify and put themselves in jeopardy.”

So, these people who were issued fraudulent COlB’s by the state of Hawaii have been living and working in Hawaii for decades. Were they smuggled in on fishing boats? If they arrived through Customs & Immigration there would be a record of there entry which would directly contradict their COLB’s. Did any of these people take advantage of the amnesties in the last few decades to clear their consciences? I don’t see any legal risk to them. You can’t be held criminally liable for something your parents did. And I’m sure Joe Farah would guarantee their anonymity until the proper moment when he springs the trap on Obama.

Sort of like a self-fulfilling prophesy...

The CoLBs weren't fraudulent, it was a legal common practice to reunite families with workers here.

Did any of these people take advantage of the amnesties in the last few decades to clear their consciences?

Unnecessary.....see above.

“The CoLBs weren’t fraudulent, it was a legal common practice to reunite families with workers here.”

If these people were brought here under policy, they are here legally and are in no legal jeopardy by coming forward.

But if as you say, the COLB’s list Hawaii as place of birth when they were born elsewhere, the COlB’s are indeed fraudulent. That’s what this whole discussion is about!

It has been commonly alleged that Hawaii gave out COLB’s which list Hawaii as place of birth, regardless of where a person was actually born. But without actual examples, it’s an unsubstantiated allegation. Now you claim to know actual persons having these COLB’s. Unless these people somehow used their COLB’s fraudulently, they are in no legal danger. Why are you withholding the evidence that could bring down Obama? You can now show that Obama’s COLB is worthless, because they are all worthless! I’m sure every plaintiff lawyer in the Obama birth lawsuits would climb the highest mountain to get their testimony.

Plus, Tom Tancredo and immigration groups like FAIR will, I’m sure, want to get their testimony. And again, Joe Farah. An article in his “Whistleblower” featuring testimony from actual persons holding COLB’s listing Hawaii as place of birth, despite being foreign-born, and issued by Hawaii state policy, would be tremendous publicity. Worth far more than those silly billboards. Go for it!!
