LOL indeed.

I haven’t even started with any of the ‘end of the roader’ stories so loved here.

Hot there? Hit 81 at The Ted and was 90 at the air base. People were fainting in the parking lots - crying and pointing the sky - screaming “it’s on fire, it’s on fire”.

Even the bears are keeping cool at Goose Lake

And had our first big urban firestorm yesterday - wife had to evac the school.

Whaddya think?-—they said “hey, precious, I’ll do you if you’ll do me?” Or maybe that ole grizzly might do both of us (for dinner.)

No - the weather is great! Only run the AC for about a week so far this year, in total. VA Power has to be crying in their beer.

81. LOL. Wuss.

Although it has rained so much, on a sunny day, you will see folks outside, “Ahhhh...it burns, it burns....”

I think a couple of Dupont Circle types convinced themselves they were ready to rough it, and freaked when they found out how far it was to the nearest Starbucks.

You can read as many off color jokes into that as you care too.

LOL.

I wasn’t crying. I was raised in SoAz and spent the bulk of the time in the USAF baking out on the ranges at Nellis.

Would like to have some of that rain.

We haven’t had a good rainstorm in over 3 weeks, unusal for this time of year.

The smoke from timber fires from the interior AND the Kenai have my eyes burning and vis is down to under a mile in town.

Here In S.E. Alaska outside of Juneau we’ve been in the high 80s low 90s for weeks. We’re LOVING GLOBAL WARMING!

Thanks for the laugh. Those of us who actually live in the Alaskan Bush wait anxiously every year for stories about folks from the lower 48 who seem to think that their 3-day sojourn at the local KOA somehow qualifies them for time up north.

We love the light. You should see what it does to the garden. It’s great to be out at midnight fishing, or waking up with the light streaming in the window.

And the winter isn’t bad. Any day without mosquitoes is a plus. LOL

Someone should have told these two morons about the hunting laws concerning bears. We have very strict hunting regulations up here. The law allows the bears no more than four tourists every season.

Flowers are actually growing in the parks?

Last I was in SE - it was to visit Ketchican - ah yes, rain all day, every day.

Took a week to scrape the mold off my shoes. Lovely place to visit, living there, not so much for me.

Many years ago, I was burned escaping from a fire and sunburn very easily now. But, I've found three cheap ways to deal with it and still enjoy the outdoors:

  1. Tents
  2. Long-sleeved shirts
  3. Lotions with a high SPF rating.

One would think these nimrods could figure out ONE of these low-cost solutions.

I spent a year at Keflavik, Iceland and the constant darkness around Christmas along with the cold was much worse than the constant daylight in late June. The worst thing about this time of year was having such a hard time blocking the light from the window so I could sleep. I don’t sleep very well in sunlight.
