Must Read
I did all I could last night to research this bit on the Internet. Snopes had nothing. This is a message an airplane pilot sent to his colleagues after one particular flight:

“With the type of people we have running this country right now ... people who don’t believe that we’re at war with Islamic terrorism .. .this sure makes you feel better about the rest of us.”
God Bless each and every person who had a hand in this.

I had to pull off the road.... darn lines were getting blurry.
Thank you, Las Vegas Ron.
Ping, better grab a tissue first.
What a moving article. Thank you for posting this.
As the wife of a 26 year Air Force veteran, these stories of the real heros in this world really pull at my heartstrings. I’ve seen the dedication and bravery of our men and women in the armed services.
My husband’s unit(WI Air Nat’l Guard) still has guys over there, he was there from Dec 02 to June 03. After the 9-11 attacks he served 2 full years at our local base.
So far, no members of his unit have perished in the fight against terrorism. Many from my state have given their all in this fight.
At my husband’s retirement ceremony (he was Chief Master Sgt for his unit) there were so many young soldiers, young like we were when he joined up. Then there were the few who had stayed as long as he did, long enough to have their hair start to gray...guys we knew since we met in college.
As I read this article, I wondered at the strength it takes for the escort soldier to not break down in tears when talking about the fallen soldier while he makes the journey home. These big hearted brave tough guys have tender hearts. How on earth do they stay professional and not let a tear roll down their cheek.
At my husband’s retirement ceremony, after every high ranking officer had given him certificates, 2 beautiful statues, even something signed by GW Bush, it was finally time for him to say something. That was it. He was tough through the hour long ceremony, having to stand in front of a couple hundred soldiers and our family, while being honored, which is hard to do...then it was his time to say something. I didn’t know he was supposed to do that. Well, he barely got a sentence out before he choked up. Then he laughed and said “go ahead and laugh at me,,,I’ll be known as the Chief who cried at his retirement...” and the room erupted in laughter and all was well.
Big guys with big hearts. And all the gals who serve to have hearts of gold too. One of the gals who kept us family members supported while our spouses were gone, had also been with the unit for over 25 years. We were kids when we all met and now are in our 40’s. They all saw the world together, really grew into fine adults together.
We didn’t know how young we were when it all began. But as I stood with my husband and got the awards they give to the spouse, and I looked out on those fresh 18 year old and up faces, it was amazing to see how very young we were when he joined. As my husband said to the crowd “I was once young like you,,,it goes by so fast..”.
Something must be wrong with my computer...the screen just got all blurry.
Have to read it later. Something wrong with my monitor - it’s all blurry.
It appears that our country is at a crossroad and it will be a test of wills as to which way we're going to go, we just cannot lose this fight.
God bless you and your husband, and all that serve.
I will do my best not to let their service be in vane.
Amen, thanks for posting...
Thanks. From what we are seeing as far as the uprising of Americans, telling our elected officials we are not going to stand for what is going on,,,I think the good guys are going to win. Everyday people like you and me, all mobs of one, will see that we get our country back. We stand with the military, even though we may not all be in official service. We will not be defeated. I will not submit to socialism. I believe there is a large majority of Americans who feel the same way. If sadly, things get very out of control and Der Fuhrer would order the military to go against the public, I am 100 percent confident that the military will arrest him and his usurper occupancy of the White House will be over. I don’t think it will get that bad though. The tide of public outrage is too great, and “his” power is deminishing by the day. Thank God for that.
This article needs to be seen by more people today. I hope it gains more attention. That was the most moving thing I’ve read in a long time. Good on you for posting it!
Hey, could this be listed in “the banglist” to get more people to read it? That’s one of my favorite places to visit everyday. Lots of good guys over there who would like to read that article.
Is there a ping list for the banglist?
