Here is video of Ted Kennedy's apology speech following the death of Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick after Kennedy drove her off a bridge into water where she drowned on July 19, 1969. Kennedy swam to shore but failed to notify authorities of the accident for hours. He was never charged with a felony, therefore allowing him to remain in the U.S. Senate. He gave this speech as part of his effort to rehabilitate his image with the voters.

Had it not been for this incident, this man very well might have been POTUS.
Mary Jo gave her life for her country, even if she didn’t know it at the time of her death.
What a dirt bag. Even in an effort to apologize, everything is about me, me, me.
Socialism hasnt worked in 6,000 years of recorded history because it didnt have me to run it. - Ted KennedyAnd despite all his efforts to the contrary, it never worked in America either. Even with him as the Jackal of the Senate trying his best to implement it. May God have mercy on his soul...but we are better as a nation with him permanenetly out of that position of power and influence.
Now we have Barrack Hussein Obama and his ilk, who will surely try to use the death of this old, corrupt man, to push through the biggest socialization effort in American history - ObamaCare.

Kennedy drove her off a bridge and became above the law.
As usual,Teddy was *this* close to sincerity in his apology.
"A blonde in every pond".The Kennedy motto.

I’m sorry, but I could only watch about 2/3 of the thing. I saw this live when he first made the ‘speech’ and I knew it for BS THEN. It did not improve with time.
Ted Kennedy is a POS and his continuance in American politics was a slap in the face to all elected officials who serve honorably and well within the traditionally respected parameters of personal dignity, moral decency and professional integrity.
There are lots of old fashioned words and ideas there and please excuse me for expressing myself like this but without observance of these things, what kind of a third world excuse for leadership do we have?
Believe he would have been.
We actually had to feel sorry for a man driving while drunk who killed a young woman - she most likly died because he lacked the courage to let the press know he was drunk when he drove off the bridge.
Which was odd because the press didn't care that he was drunk - didn't care that he killed an innocent girl.
Didn't care about anything except being able to be close to a Kennedy - to be part of the family that was “American royalty”. There was no fawning too great - a gold digger social climber would have blushed at the American press if full kiss butt glory...
He hurt two women...Mary Jo and Lady Justice.

Camelot - compound - matriarch - American royalty - etc. etc.
I was not under the influence of liquor.(Because I was drinking beer that day, fifty-three of them in fact.)
You forgot the waitress with whom he had a three-way with Chris Dodd. Also, the woman who his nephew raped (remember, she implicated Teddy in the incident).
