it certainly has its admirable qualities. durability was the one I thought of when reading this thread.

My dad LOVED Spam. Every morning during the last five years of his life (I took care of him) I would make him Spam and eggs. I prepared very low fat/low cholesterol foods the rest of the day, but a couple thin slices of fried spam, one poached egg and some wheat toast was heaven to him for starting his day.
