just mad as hell that I lapsed for a while under the malaise of GWB!!!

Dude, we're gonna look back at that "malaise" like it was fin-de-siecle, roaring 20's kind of salad days.

-Increasing amounts of time spent on Internet

Impossible to increase amounts of time on the internet unless I start cutting out sleep

-Failed attempts to control behavior

Hrmmm never tried

-Heightened euphoria while on Internet

Nope same as always

-Craving more time on Internet, restless when not there

Could say the same thing about electricity in general when not there.

-Neglecting family and friends

Nope

-Lying to others about use

Nope I’m very honest that unless I’m fishing or hunting I’m on the internet.

-Internet interfering with job and school

Lack of internet would greatly interfere with my job.

-Feeling guilty or ashamed of behavior

Nope

-Changes in sleep patterns

Only on wow patch days or expansion releases.

-Weight changes, backaches, headaches, carpal tunnel

Symptoms of my job as well

-Withdrawl from other activities

Nope

Hitting refresh every two minutes and expecting to find 40 new articles to read and reply to.
Pacing. It takes pacing.

As in, spend a few minutes every quarter hour beginning some house-hold oriented task, like cutting the grass (which, has to be done otherwise city code-compliance officers making inspec- ... but that's a story for another day), and, if it's hot, there is a built-in excuse to come in and click refresh after cuting a couple swaths ... couple that with an electic mower (instant start/stop) - dingwah! Perfect solution!

Wow, I never knew about the F5 before. It really works.

I’ve always been a Reload Page guy. Not any more.

Late at night, there’s not enough activity on Free Republic to stay glued to the computer the whole time, so I turn on Fox News and watch reruns of the evening shows. Or maybe there’s a good movie on TV. So then I can check the computer for updates during commercials. Do I have a problem? Should I check myself into rehab?

I am very sorry for those idiots who get addicted to the internet. I am so concerned for them, I have to check up on line all the time, to see how things are going.

It is an addiction that needs no cure.

You're entirely welcome. Now, for everyone's viewing pleasure, here is a pic of Free Republic founder "Jim Thompson", with an attractive blonde who is the titular head of the vast right-wing conspiracy.
