I prefer not to waste screen acreage with black bands. ... I only buy 16:9 DVDsOh man you must really hate that most movies are shot in 2.35:1 and are encoded onto anamorphic 16:9 DVDs with lots of extra black bands in the MPEG stream :-)

So I just grind my teeth and bear it.
