NEW YORK (AP) - Sting isn't a religious man, but he says President Barack Obama might be a divine answer to the world's problems.
In an interview, he jokes that Obama was "sent from God," but in a serious tone, he also said that Obama was the best person to handle the world's "mess."
The English-born Sting says he's fascinated by American politics and those opposed to Obama. He says Obama's opponents are "aggressive and violent and full of fear."

Sting’s been a commie for a zillion years...just like Bono...they all want to feel important since entertainers do nothing but take in $$$ by giving people a temporary escape. Problem is, most never finished high school ...Sting’s an English major, gee, ever seen a conservative English professor at a university?

Being a Bass Player myself, I have to tell you that Sting’s lines are so simplistic that anyone can play them. One might say they HAVE to be simple because he sings at the same time. But that’s really no excuse, as I have been learning McCartney (He SINGS TOO!) and Chuck Rainey (Steely Dan) lines and I sing at the same time as well. Just a little note from an insider. I have lost a lot of respect for Sting since I actually started playing the Bass!

Copeland knows that he embodies a sort of micro-targeted mega-fame common to Southern California. Behind the drum risers, he's a Golden God, but otherwise, he's just another guy holding up the line at the Coffee Bean.
Sting, however, is in Golden God mode 24/7, and the trappings of that life seem to amuse Copeland to no end. The constant hubbub and pretension around the singer is "Sting world"; the meditating man at the center of it "doesn't do farewells, he just vaporizes."
