I had the exact same reaction. Can’t you just see the biting of the lower lip? And the chuckle like at the Ron Brown funeral then instantly turning somber when you see the camera is on you?

Political Correctness by definition injects politics into non-political institutions. So, the military decision to deny Purple Hearts is informed by the politics, which is that the Obama Administration wants this to be a lone madman, not a terror attack by the enemy.
Hard as it is to say and to take, some of them voted for him.

And cheer for him at that memorial service, of all places!!! How disrespectful!! I was at a VA hospital with my son, the service was on the tv in a waiting room but I couldn’t catch all of it.
Honestly, I can’t stand the sound of his voice either or his pattern of speech. When he comes on tv I can’t mute it or change the channel fast enough.
My wife saw Al Franken guffawing before the official ceremony began.
The shrieks and hooting from Barry’s groupies ,
as he was introduced , was revolting.
Barry was diminished with every biographical
detail he spoke about the fallen.
Their personal histories of honor and service to country highlighted his lack of honor and service to our country.
And I thought his mention of Osama bin Laden as moment of attempted levity in speaking of SSG Kreuger was bizarre.

Some in the audience tittered and Barry paused like he was expecting that reaction.
On the bright side, he will probably end up like Mussolini.

At personal funerals, memorial services, etc. - I think something like this is fine. Shows the personality and grit of the person. And the people that know her can reflect on that whole attitude and chuckle and think “Yep - that was Amy”. Even in a public memorial like this I think it is okay.
I just wish it were said by somebody other than Obama - someone that meant the words. (I’m reminded of his looking at his military remembrance bracelet of Private ... ah what’s his name).
I don’t know if his picture is on the coin, but yes, I watched him put a coin in front of each picture. This guy could have never given a speech, and he wouldn’t have been missed. Worst speech ever.
