It’s not my style to browbeat people.

But it appears that it IS your style to vaguely accuse unnamed folks of various things, and then not stand on hind legs and defend your judgement calls.

Therefore, I think it is a wise course of action to watch ourselves very closely, examine our motivations and behaviours, and refrain from casting stones at others.

You first...

I will gladly go first. If anyone reading this thread and my comments is feeling attacked, please know my intent was to admonish. See the definition of admonish for clarification.

I would never want to judge another soul. I leave that to Christ. I can certainly tell you why I believe what I believe, and I won’t belittle you in the process.

If you like this attitude, check out the Catholic Church. It condemns the sin, not the sinner. Kind of like Christ.

I didn’t SAY that......

I just considered the probabilities.

Besides, even if McCain made it through all four years, the things to consider were that Palin is much more responsive to conservative values and could have had an impact on McCain’s policies and decision making.

Plus, it would have been invaluable experience for her.

Eph 2:8&9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Salvation is by faith in Christ alone. It is not of works. If salvation could be gained through some other means, be it good deeds, baptism, last rites, whatever, Christ would not have needed to die.

You have no credibility among real conservatives. IF Romney is the nominee and IF you vote third party or stay home, then YOU are the problem. You will have shown yourself to be a leftist enabler of the socialist takeover of the United States.

If you vote for a liberal, big government, pro-abortionist RINO, then YOU are a leftist enabler of the socialist takeover of the United States.

You simply cannot vote liberal and have any credibility left when trying to pass yourself off as a conservative. You simply do not understand what a real conservative is if you think that compromising your values is what a real conservative does.

And I say that as a Christian.

Another Religion Some have suggested that the LDS is a Christian derivative much as Christianity is a Jewish derivative, but that is surely wrong. The claim of Christianity is that its gospel of Jesus Christ is in thorough continuity with the Old Testament and historic Israel, that the Church is the New Israel, which means that it is the fulfillment of the promise that Israel would be "a light to the nations."

Smacks of Anti-semitism.

Never forget that Jesus was, is and will always be a Jew.

Those who hate Jews, hate Jesus also know as Yah'shua.

YHvH who is our salvation.

The correct view was given to us by Paul.
We who call ourselves followers of the Christ
have been grafted into the family of Abraham.

Romans 11 would be a good place to start.

“I’ll stick with the conservative in the race...”

All things considered, I agree. However, if Romney wins the nomination, will you vote for him?

- - - - - - - - - -
No way in Outer Darkness would I ever vote for Mitt. I don’t trust him, he flip-flops too much.

Who do you think is convinced of the error of their ways when they read the kind of “witness” they see here?

Care to “chime in” on this comment, SZ? I know you have a very definite opinion about the “anti’s” on these threads.

f you are rude and disrespectful as you try to convince them, you won’t be successful. I also believe you would not be behaving as Christ did or asked of us.

I believe that when that kind of person faces judgment day, Christ will treat him as harshly as he treated others. “Forgive our trespasses as we forgive others.”

- - - - - - - - - -
First, there are several types of witnessing, all of which are successful. Confrontation can and has worked (even here on FR), some take a more genteel approach. Telling someone they are bound for Hell is not being “rude or disrespectful”, it is tell them the point blank truth. Christ (and paul, and Stephen and other) was very blunt and even “rude and disrespectful” to the Pharisees and others. Having a “live and let live” attitude is not Christian, it is allowing someone to be damned.

Forgiving others isn’t necessarily part of witnessing, and you just placed yourself in “condemnation” mode by assuming that you know how Christ will treat “that kind of person”.

However, if you do not like the tone of these threads, there is a very easy solution, don’t participate. It isn’t for everyone.
