Secondly, it did not feel like love when I was LDS and people confronted me, told me I was going to Hell, I had the wrong doctrines. But I realize now it was a very loving thing to do. They got through to me. There was a Christian bookstore owner in Provo who used to hammer me with questions and doctrines every time I walked by, I hated him at first, but he made me think. The “live and let live” people, I felt sorry for, because they weren’t LDS.
Those who said “I’m happy with my faith, and although I disagree with you, I am going to soften it” got nowhere with me.
The “rough” ones were the ones that made me look at my beliefs and Bible.
I believe that when that kind of person faces judgment day, Christ will treat him as harshly as he treated others.

Christ will judge the motivations of our hearts. Was it done for our glory or for His. I have known many of these “anti’s” for years and their motivation is for the Glory of God alone.

BTW there are many others who do not like Romney and would not vote for him zero! ...they just move on they don’t need to incite an evil hate fest!

As I’ve indicated, I’m in the DeMint camp. Perhaps even more so, I am in the Dump BHO camp. I don’t want a BHO second term, and I don’t want a Romney nomination.
But the whipsmart CINOs here can’t seem to comprehend a conditional question: IF Romney is nominated, what will you do? As I fear a second Obama term more than a first Romney term, I’ll vote for Romney. But he’s hardly the best choice among Republicans.
If beating your chest and spewing Obama-supporting slogans (e.g., “I’ll vote third party”) brings you some social status or gets you chicks, keep it up. The strategy is a poor one under the condition prescribed.
And as I cleverly inserted in my film reference upthread, you’re just the guys to do it!
Oh, and as another poster noted—I am quite haughty. When you’re conservative AND strategically correct, it comes naturally.
Any conservative who refuses to vote for the GOP nominee in 2012, whomever that may be, is not a conservative at all, but a showboater who is more concerned with perceptions and social standing than with defeating BHO.

conservativism does NOT equal the GOP. Not anymore. I have held my nose and voted for the GOP candidate for the last several cycles and honestly, I am tired of them putting up flakes, flip floppers and RINO’s. If Romney gets the nom, I am out of the party.

Well, gee, thanks for that. If you look back at the whole thread you will see that I was repeatedly asked to clarify my opinion. So I have repeatedly. Harsh posters don’t affect me so I don’t mind being here. I find it instructive.
Stephen did get a little heated in his comments, but don’t forget they were getting ready to kill him! The situation was a bit extreme, don’t you think?
Scattershot ridicule and disrespect done anonymously doesn’t seem to me like something the early martyrs would do... to anyone. I’m comfortable with admonishing that.
If you think I’m wrong after the many passages I posted from Scripture detailing how Christians are supposed to treat others, including sinners and non-believers, I guess that’s okay. It’s too bad, but it’s okay.
Perhaps a poll of FR ex-Mormons about what kind of evangelization worked with them might be instructive. Maybe you, with your response to harsh techniques, are in the minority. Would it matter if the majority of ex-Mormons said a respectful discussion worked better with them? If I were committed to a certain technique of evangelizing, I’d make sure it was actually effective. Otherwise, I’d be wasting my time or actually pushing souls away from Christ. That would be awful!
I certainly would not want to face my Maker having influenced even one soul away from salvation. What was it Christ said about people who do that? Oh, yes, it would be “better for them if they’d never been born.” That’s why I like to be very cautious about how I approach other souls.

Whomever? Romney? Hilary? Jar-Jar Binks? Whooo-boy. Let’s have a reality check: Romney has already enacted his own Obamacare in Massachusetts (which is already bankrupt); he did nothing as governor to oppose gay marriage, although he’s “personally opposed.”
Mitt Romney is a showboater who is more concerned with perceptions and social standing than with conservatism. That’s the only answer a true conservative can give.
BTW, Mormons aren’t any more Christian than Muslims, who also believe in Jesus Christ; Muslims have Mohammed as their prophet, while Mormons have Joseph Smith (and both supported polygamy!)
