This Marine must have been adamant to sign up in 1943 at age 35.

Funny I should see this tonight. I just stumbled across an article my father wrote for the Marine Corps Gazette in April 1953, archived on a Marine Corps site.

The oldest living female Marine died on Veterans Day and was buried in the Cypress Hills National Cemetery. Miriam Cohen was one of the oldest females to enlist in 1943, at 35 years old, said Debra Allee, the 101-year-old's niece. Cohen answered her nations calling twice, serving during World War II and the Korean War.

Semper Fi, Marine.
May God bless and keep you,
May He make His face to shine upon you,
And be gracious unto you.

And grant you peace.
