Alabama upsets No. 1 Florida in SEC title game

Alabama is headed for the BCS championship game, thanks to a stunning -- and near-perfect -- victory over No. 1 Florida. The Crimson Tide, ranked No. 2, broke open a tight SEC title game in Atlanta with a solid second half, defeating the Gators 32-13 on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide punched their ticket to the national title game with a magnificent performance against Florida, the defending national champion. They pounded out just shy of 500 yards of offense and forced Gators QB Tim Tebow into uncharacteristic mistakes.

I was pulling for Florida but Alabama is also one of my favorites so it wasn’t a total disaster. Albabama’s offensive linemen were simply blowing Florida’s defense off the line.

BTW, I recall Gen. George S. Patton saying he wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a guy who lost and laughed. Tebow is a great player and it showed how much he hated to lose.

I felt sorry for Tim, but was intrigued by the scripture verse under his eyes (they’re becoming bill boards - Ohio State QB had “Vick”). It was John 16:33 which goes something like you will have trials and sorrows but don’t sweat it. I suspect Tim had a vision that today would not go well.

Say what you want about Tebow, but he’s a better MAN than Saban will ever be. Just ask any MSU, LSU or Dolphins fan.

“Tebow was terribow.”

....yep....big time ball players come up big in big games...Tebow’s performance tonight was inadequate...and I think he would say so too...we’ll see how it affects his status with NFL scouts.

Saban started attacking from the very start of the game.

Tebow hasn’t been the same since his concussion. He really hasn’t.

One game does not change the career resume of Tebow. When Tony Dungy says he’d take Tebow as the first QB, you know he’s pretty damn good.

Those that want the game the most are usually the ones that win!
We did....and we did. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

That includes all the games we’ve played all year! Every single one!

Upset? Nah. Number two was always better than number one. Floriduh now has to make it back. That ain't gonna happen this year.

I respect Tebow immensely. He is a man of god and a great leader with a very promising future.

The crying was a wee bit much, but the way BAMA came into the game to win tonight caught everyone by surprise. God Bless Tebow. At least great ball games on the weekends help to offset the mess we deal with every week in this country.

What sweetens the win even more... BARACK was pulling for Florida...well yeah...Florida turned blue for BARACK and Alabama stayed “RED” for country not party. There is not any doubt why the bigot in chief pulled for Florida.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

And Tony coaches which team?

The hardest I have ever been hit was by a guy who was crying. The coach had just jumped all over him during a scrimmage. Unfortunately I was the guy who carried the ball on the next play.

I am pretty sure he gave me a concussion tho I probably didn’t realize it at the time. I know I literally say stars and lost consciousness for a few seconds.

Tony retired and coached a super bowl winning team. And your problem with him is...

Maybe that’s why Florida wore all white tonight. I don’t recall ever seeing them wear all white.
