A schoolboy has been suspended for 'crisp dealing' at a school which has banned fatty drinks and snacks.
In sign of pupil disgruntlement over school meal reforms spearheaded by TV chef Jamie Oliver, 12-year-old Joel Bradley was caught allegedly selling a packet of Discos at a marked-up price of 50p.
He was suspended from Liverpool's Cardinal Heenan High School because it was the second time he had been caught.
His father, Joe, said the boy had been 'victimised' for an enterprise which could earn him as much as £15 a day.
'I think the school has made a beeline for him because of what I've done,' he told the Liverpool Echo.
Mr Bradley, from Liverpool's Norris Green district, admitted he too had once been caught selling canned drinks, chocolate bars and crisps from a van outside the school - saying he was filling a void left by the closure of a local shop.

Junk food junkie, blimey
Just Say No To Crisps. (nanny state govt alert)
What’s that South Park episode where Cartman is sent to fat camp and sets up an underground market in junk food?
Hmmm ...a first hand lesson on the effects and ramifications of prohibition. The void is always filled ...always
You know that what you eat you are
But what is sweet now turns so sour
We all know ob la di bla da
But can you tell me where you are?...
But you’ll have to have them all pulled out
After the savoy truffle
Brilliant kid! Maybe we could trade him for one of ours.
Ideally, this father can find a non-fascist school for his son.
What’s a fatty drink? They puttin’ liquid butter in kids energy drinks or something? OR is this just more bad reporting?
Cartman the capitalist! I don’t know the episode.
Sugar-laden soft drinks maybe
Conservatives need to take up the art of civil disobedience. Don't just sneak in Twinkies, sneak in hundreds and scatter them down the halls between classes.
Fat Camp. You can watch it for free here:
I have no problem with a school banning junk food being sold in the schools, we never had candy machines, etc. in my schools. Yes, there was a black market of sorts, but this kid was already caught once so he SHOULD be suspended. And the father selling this junk illegally (he said he was caught once) in a van outside the school? Try doing that at an American school and see how far you get.
This is what happens when leftoids decide to meddle with the laws of supply and demand.
As everyone knows, free enterprise has long since been banned throughout Great Britain.
This boy has a bright future in business, I’d guess. A natural entrepeneur.
Problem is, the kid wasn’t selling it in the school. Since when does a school have the right to control or prohibit perfectly legal free enterprise off school grounds ??
Whole milk is the demon fatty drink of choice among adolescents. It may seem relatively harmless in moderation, but it's a gateway drink to heavy whipping cream.
