"Bonds aren’t punitive and are supposed to assure an appearance."

Nonsense. Bail is prophylactic, not punitive. Referring to bail as punitive is preposterous.

To "assure an appearance" the bond need not be punitive; but it does need to make the miscreant hesitate to walk away from significant wealth, or to inhibit ability to do so.

The court should take into account:

1. the nature and seriousness of the offense or default (and the probable method of dealing with the defendant for it),

2. the character, antecedents, associations and community ties of the defendant,

3. the defendant’s bail record, and

4. the strength of the evidence

Robert Downey Jr. had a great line in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

“West-coast girls are crazy... It’s like someone took America by the East Coast and shook it, and all the normal girls managed to hang on.”

And maybe Hanes will throw him under his ‘MaSheen.’

Michael Jordan should be ashamed to have to ‘work’ with him.

(But I always found the Cuba Gooding Hanes commercials funny).

Actually, I think the more liquids ‘added’ (silicone or saline, botox, lip plumpers) the more disturbed the brain chemistry.

Sheen’s dad certainly is a leftie but as far as I know he is still married to his original wife and I have never heard about domestic violence from Sheen the elder. That being said Charlie Sheen should be behind bars.

He should not be working in the first place, this isn’t the first time.

I agree. You present my point. A 300000 bail would not make a difference except make a biased point. Sheen aint going anywhere. And usually a judge will issue a no contact order regardless of bail amount.

And he was in jail for, what, two days? Three?

Different rules for celebs on display.

I’m not expert, but I’ve known a few recipients of such enhancements.

Every last one of them was damaged pre-Op.
Post-Op, the only difference was they were more extroverted.

Hanes commercials featuring Charlie Sheen were still running over the weekend.

There is no truth to the rumor that Sheen has endorsed a new line of ‘wife beaters.’

I don’t know where you got that number, but OK, let’s use it. No problem for him, no bias expressed. Everyone knows that. Ain’t going nowhere? Isn’t that what Polanski said?

I made your point for you? What point?

You made the point that bonds are not punitive and you outlined sdome of the criteria judges review prior to setting bond.
Did Sheen allegedley commit a crime? Yes, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Is Sheen going to appear is court? Probably so.
Was anyone hurt? No
Is there a threat of future violence? Probably not. The judge would have held him over for a hearing.

Judges see tons of domestic cases daily. He’s no different. Just set the bond(not because he’s rich), order no contact, and set a court date.
BTW, you can’t compare a simple assault charge(I say simple because an assault is just a threat with the ability to do harm) to a 1st degree felony sex offense. Big difference.

Oh but in the ‘fine artistic’ community of Tinsel Town (and NYC to be fair) along the fractured logic of ‘it wasn’t rape rape’ (Whoopie ‘Deep Thinker’ Goldberg defending Roman Polanski) I guess pulling a knife on a wife (what number is this one) ‘wasn’t assault assault.’

Somewhere in a Hanes boardroom someone ought to be thinking...’damn, we sell wifebeaters...’

You could be right...a former ‘enhanced’ co-worker was honestly insane. I thought maybe she had a leak somewhere...

Since the ads play off Sheen’s crazyness I think they’ll leave them running.
