Help yourself. Unfortunately, after the 1970s Jewish mother humor was turned from warm, nostalgic humor, into passive-aggressive, angry humor, and for the most part stopped being funny. A lot of people now find it deeply objectionable.
Once can certainly laugh and cry over some memories.
Better to laugh, when possible.
She had a heart of gold . . . as well as a ton of her own hurts.
