Looking at bare grass here in the People’s Republic of New England. On the other hand; the temperature is in the single digits.

I’m with you! Got to the point I couldn’t watch the old Lassie shows when it looked like something bad was going to happen to her.

Your story about Darcy being afraid of storms reminded me of this ‘story’, and I just had to post it. See what can happen if you leave your pets in the house during a storm? LOL!!

Bert, I think we got about the same amount, being that we live so close. The roads look fair in front of my house since the plow came through and it looks like they may have put salt on it. The cold is what I can’t stand!

I took some pix but didn’t get them on the computer!

Thanks for sharing about the loss of your sheltie’s and the loss of your husband. It seems to me you’ll know, if the time is right, to get another dog. Perhaps you will know when it’s time to get another “ Husband”! Just kidding !

I know what happens if you leave DArcy in the house! I can only wish the results were so benign! We actually have tranquilizers for this dog! She’s always been bad about loud noises, but when the military started practice bombing 24/7 to go to...Iraq?—we live near several bases/practice ranges—she flipped out. I feel so bad for her and she’s like a toddler afraid of thunder. There’s no way to explain to them that it’s nothing to be afraid of. I hate to give them to her unless I’m gonna be home, b/c they don’t totally knock her out, they just make her groggy and woozy and if the noise is loud enough it still gets to her. She’s to the point if she sees a light flicker, she starts shaking. If you put her in a room with a strobe light, she’d have a heart attack.

OTOH, she’s a good storm indicator. Much better than the local weatherman!
