Hannah was right, but it’s not up to Hannah or anyone else to force the Mercedes owner, but to see what’s needed and act herself. They made the decision to help others with their own largesse, that’s fine, that’s great.
more better that dad says; “awesome idea! Tell ya what sport, lets go sell your ipod and cell phone and donate the proceeds,,that ok? Oh, and no more sleepovers either, we wasted all that gas for YOUR selfish pleasure.”
Take away the little budding liberal’s sacred cows, and she might wake up. Emphasize how you wont forgo YOUR cool stuff, just her. Then she won’t go having ideas that cost you money.
So long as they stop with their own personal income and belongings, I really don’t care what they do with it. Just leave everyone else alone.
“This isnt socialism, this is charity”
Nope, it’s socialism. The snotty kid didnt earn a dime of the money she intended to distribute. She advocated and suggested redistribution of the wealth,,, and now her poor brother has a lower living standard to placate her self-righteous crap.
I think they should start by sending her to an inner city school. If she thinks the homeless need help, what about the children?
Truly beautiful!
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid; bet ya $50 the Dali’bama would say the same.
Tell the kid they will start by taking half of all their stuff and donating it. Then see how far naive idealism gets when it smashes into the wall of reality.
And yet we Americans are by far the most generous people on the planet, in terms of government aid and private donations by individuals.
Crap economics and Marxist class warfare at its finest. I wonder: How many employees does the Mercedes driver have?
Cheers!
And that's exactly what happened here - the girl's parents decided to give away fruits of their own labor.
The girl had the idea to take the wealth that her parents (and hot she) earned, and spend it. The fact that her parents went along doesn't change the daughter's original intent to take the house and sell it. The daughter should be welcome to share only her own labor's gains, not what her parents saved up for their retirement or for her education.
There is nothing wrong with the girl suggesting that her parents give away the fruits of her own labor. They were certainly in a position to say no, but they CHOSE to go along with her suggestion. Are you saying that it is wrong, somehow Marxist, to even ASK someone to give away the fruits of their own labor?
Nope, it's not socialism, it's charity. It is not socialism to merely SUGGEST that someone give away the fruits of their labor, as long as the person has the ability to say no. If socialism was defined as you are defining it, then EVERY charity (hell, EVERY church) has been engaged in 'socialism' since forever. Socialism isn't about the voluntary redisibution of wealth, or the encouragement thereof. Socialism is about MANDATORY redistribution of wealth.
How much I hate these people, I can not even put into words.
Here’s the old leftist message: life is a zero-sum game. If you have something, that means someone else has nothing. The pie is finite and never expands. Same left, same lies.
Proven by a book I read a few years back "The Millionaire Next Door." Can't remember the authors but they detailed accounts of rich people who had bequeathed little to their children and other rich people who had given their tykes everything. The children who had received little and had to learn how to manage their money invariably ended up better off down the road than the children who were simply given large inheritances without learning how to manage them.
The authors also detailed how people who knew how to make and keep money did better in times when financial disaster hit them then people who didn't have the skills. In short, rich people are mostly rich because they worked hard and had the knowledge to keep being rich.
Self-made Billionaire Jon Huntsman said he is going to die penniless ... giving all his money to charity.
[In the end, only kindness matters.]
Out of the dozens that have been offered, only 1 took the offer. He was a very well-dressed black guy in downtown San Fransisco not terribly far from Fisherman's Wharf. We had Denny's at 2am. Nice guy, kept a dignified appearance even though he was on the street, and he seemed to be rather intelligent.
Now that I think about it... he reminds me of the guy that Wil Smith played in that Happiness movie.
ABSOLUTELY.
