NEW YORK (Reuters Health) People with high blood pressure who want to drop some pounds may want to choose a low-carb diet, a new study shows.
In the study, overweight or obese individuals who went on a low-carb diet lost about the same amount of weight as those who cut down on their fat intake and took the weight-loss aid orlistat (sold as Xenical or Alli). However, the low-carb diet produced more favorable effects on blood pressure.

I had the opposite experience when I went on a low-carb diet years ago. It took a few days to switch and then I felt like a dynamo for about a week. I could feel the heat I was throwing off.
I have plenty of energy for normal day-2-day activities.
It’s just when I ride my bike for 1-3 hours at a time, it depletes all my blood sugar and I am a zombie for 6-12 hours. By following the advice of Joe Friel, I didn’t have the dead zone after working out, and was able to work out much harder.
