LOL

Thanks, Yorkie.

Happy Tuesday .... Happy Groundhog Day. Looks like 6 more weeks of winter. Spring will get here eventually.

Thank you, Billie.

I haven’t made many new graphics lately .... seems like I’m too far behind.

I was very proud of Marissa for bringing her reading from an “F” to an “A”. The “F” made no sense to me because she can read. I think she rushed through her tests so she could go play. She still has the “F” in math so I’m hoping the tutor will make a difference. I would be satisfied with a “C”.

Just dropping in to say hi! I have dabbled around here in many things and can’t say I’ve accomplished much. Its such a gloomy day....I think its made me gloomy! Ran a couple of errands, washed some clothes, fixed a little frozen pizza for lunch and wasted some time just ‘sitting’ and watching t.v.

Hi, Amy, I'm glad you like "Maybe You Should", too. There's something about his raspy, whiskey-tenor voice that I just absolutely love. It's so not 'pure' or technically perfect, but so full of emotion and soul and I really, really like it. (can you tell? LOL) It's strange in a way that I can be so very crazy about Susan Boyle's beautiful, pure, almost perfect voice and yet feel the same way about Taylor's. One thing that I find they both do that grabs me so much though is when they take a note and just literally soar and soar and soar with it.

Thank you, Luv. I have more. :) It is fun to get in on the ground floor, so to speak, with an artist, and follow them from the beginning. There is one other besides Taylor and Susan Boyle that I hope to hear from for years to come, and that is Kevin Skinner, winner of America’s Got Talent. His is another voice that touched me from the moment he opened his mouth, and I looked forward each week to his performance, happy that he made it another week - and ultimately won. :)

It’s not over yet. Have a few from his “Early Works” too - songs that he wrote when he was only about 19 or 20.

Listening to Elvis now .... will listen to the others later. Elvis' song - Taylor singing it. :) (I like Elvis singing it, but enjoyed the way Taylor arranged it, too - love the falsetto he threw in - in that one and also in "You Are So Beautiful")

I’m looking forward....don’t count me out! I love Taylor and I would love to see him perform, either live or on t.v. or something. Sometimes I get aggravated with the music business, they can push who THEY want to make it, BUT if they don’t like someone, they will work against that person.

I was reading your post here about Marissa. To you or I, this is simple, but little minds have a hard time grasping it. I can remember how hard I thought division and multiplication was! I was thinking of my granddaughter, who is teaching 3rd grade now and wondering how she was getting all the things that are taught in 3rd grade, through to her kids.

I do remember this....I remember thinking 3rd grade was hard.

Did you tell me Marissa is in the 4th grade? The tutor will help her. One day a light bulb will go on for her and she will get it. Thats what Billie was telling me when she was teaching me tables.....LOL!

Yeah, I was complaining to Billie after I posted it about it not being very good and by golly, it was only a very few minutes and she made it just perfect! After she fixed it, I copied and sent to my email buddies with Happy Groundhog Day and a few words about Tiger....LOL!

Okay, how about this pic? Once upon a time, right after he won Season 5, he was everywhere - here he is when he was named People Magazine's Sexiest Bachelor. Cute smile, dat, huh? :)

Listing several here from his "Taylor Hicks" album, as well as a few songs
he wrote and recorded before Idol. The last three on list were remastered
and included in an album called "Early Works" a year or so ago.

From his 2006 album, "Taylor Hicks"

~ Wherever I Lay My Hat ~

I believe F. R. was down a little while. I kept trying to get on and couldn’t. Its back now.

I loved all the last songs you posted. He has several styles and I love’em all. Loved “My Friend” very much and also both of those from the Taylor Hicks C.D....of course I have them but haven’t listened to them in a while. Precious pic of him. He’s good looking, thats for sure.

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!

Capt. David J. Thompson, USA, KIA Afghanistan 29JAN2010

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

God Of Our Fathers

Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace!
We who remain hold you in high honor.
Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct;
We who remain keep this place sacred.
Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades;
We who remain keep the watch.
Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nation’s call;
We who remain press the fight forward in your name.
Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden;
We who remain have taken up the torch.
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!

Flowers of the Forest

Black Watch Piper

The Soldier

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

Rupert Brooke
