America's dream of putting another man on the moon was dashed last night as President Obama announced a spending freeze to combat a record-breaking £1trillion U.S. budget deficit.
Nasa's plan to launch a series of new manned moon missions was one of 120 government-funded programmes to be culled to help slice into the mammoth debt.

Would it be safe to guess that Obama usually preferred the “short game” of Monopoly, where all assets are just divied up equally at the beginning and then when he lost all his money demanded others give him back some of their winnings or he’d take his game and go home?

They haven’t noticed that Michigan only got some $40 million for the high speed rail and that won’t get one inch of track laid after lawsuits.
I actually like to travel by train but don’t want the taxpayers to fund it. Besides, our train system is a mess now. I looked at going to Toronto from Jackson Michigan and the route took me 200 miles west to Chicago before heading east to Buffalo.

I support Our President on two issues. The BCS sucks and should be outlawed. But Nasa is the biggest waste on money I can think of other than fighting Israel’s wars. Thank GOD the monn mission is history!! Been there and done that. Ground hog day , the movie. We are broke!!! Shut government down . Nasa is a start!!.
So, in order to save a buck, he puts several thousand highly trained and motivated aerospace workers out on the curb. Sorry guys, it’s for the good of the country and all that rot. How does Ø square this with all the other pork he spending OUR hard earned tax dollars on? I just pray that the Pubs can take control of the Hill and impeach this globe-trotting POS. I lived in Hammond, IN as a kid, we had 4-5 tracks side by side....you could be stuck in traffic for half an hour or more as train after train went by.
Maybe returning to the moon carries too much risk of generating American pride.
NASA is still going to get the money. Its going to go into climate research so you idiots who are going to fix the earth first can feel good about yourselves.

I said nothing as to the appropriateness or inappropriateness of denying NASA funding; what I _DID_ do was express surprise there’s some government program that Obama _ISN’T_ throwing money at.
