The Central Jakarta administration will move the controversial "Little Barry" statue from its current location at Taman Menteng in Central Jakarta to state elementary school SDN 01 Menteng next week, an official says.
"We are currently discussing with officials from the school and its alumni association," city spokesman Cucu Ahmad Kurnia told reporters Friday. "We hope the move will happen next week."
US President Barack Obama attended the elementary school for almost two years when he spent part of his childhood in Jakarta.
Erected by the Jakarta-based Friends of Obama Foundation in December last year, the statue, which resembles Obama as a boy, recently sparked wide public criticism for insulting the nation's pride.
Just a few days after the Central Jakarta municipality unveiled the statue at Menteng Park, experts and a group of Facebook users demanded it be dismantled.
On Wednesday, the Central Jakarta District Court held a hearing to try a class action lawsuit by five plaintiffs representing 50,000 members of the "Take down the Barack Obama statue from Menteng Park" group on Facebook.
The five plaintiffs - Heru Nugroho, Protus Tanuhandaru, Daniel Rudi Haryanto, Andes Soesman and FX Agung Bimo Sutedjo - filed the suit against Jakarta governor, Central Jakarta mayor and the Jakarta Parks and Cemeteries Agency, saying the statue didn't deserve a place at the park and should be immediately removed.
Although appreciating the administration's plan to remove the statue, Heru said the group would go ahead with its lawsuit.
"We will only withdraw the lawsuit if the city administration publicly apologizes for its one-sided decision to permit the statue," he told The Jakarta Post.
Hawaiian-born Obama moved to Indonesia at the age of six to live with his mother, Ann Dunham, and Indonesian stepfather Lolo Soetoro.
Obama attended third grade at the school in 1968. He returned to Hawaii at the age of 10 to live with his maternal grandparents.

She can be an American citizen, in the eyes of US Law, if not Indonesian, because she was born outside the US of a US Citizen parent and an alien parent, and by then Stanley Ann was elibible to pass US citizenship on to her child. She was not when Barry was born, if he was born outside the US. But it's not citizenship that is at issue, if born in the US Barry is a citizen, and telling the Indonesian authorities otherwise doesn't change that. However since his father was not a citizen, ever, unless he's lying about who that was, he cannot be a Natural Born Citizen regardless of where he was born.
Inoue is a Japanese name, different spelling of same name as Senator Inouye from Hawaii, who served in the all "Japanese" 442nd regimental combat team (originally Hawaii National Guard) in Italy and France in WW-II where he was very seriously injured.

barry’s head is big in many photos..look again at the one with Lolo Ann and maya as a baby where they are sitting down.
take into account that he had surgery at some point on his skull. I dont think it was when he was a baby..but if so..may be had something wrong with his head at birth. One photo looks like he has a shunt.

Look at the distortion on Aug. 5 right above Obama’s announcement.
I work with a guy who’s been printing newspapers for over half a century. He showed me how they did the linotype. They used metal letters, sort of like the old typewriters had the metal letters which impacted the ink ribbon to leave the letter on the paper. When they typed a letter on the linotype machine it released a metal letter from a cache which fell into place in a line of letters. When the line was done the metal letters were secured together with hot lead. So each line was its own specially-made “stamp”.
The lines were placed one above the other inside a metal frame. Everything had to be very tight. And then the small frames were held together inside a frame that was the size of the page. That frame was placed on the press and the papers were pressed up against that inked frame to make the image on the paper.
So when you see the frames on the page that’s exactly what it was - a metal frame.
If you look on this paper you’ll see that the announcements are uninterrupted going down - just one line of type following another - until an ad breaks up the continuity.
Some of the lines don’t show up clearly. I imagine that’s normal when microfilms are made. But the EXTRA lines we see would have to come from the microfilm machine or from a copy machine. Vertical lines could come from wear and tear of the reader on the films. I’m not so sure what would cause horizontal lines.
Maybe somebody who’s worked with microfilm could help us out on that.
But the placement of a horizontal line right before and after Obama and the Asing announcement, coupled with the distortion on just the words right above that top horizontal line do look fishy to me. We know the horizontal line is not from the frames because it actually crosses out some of the words on the far right side of the page.
Just eye-balling it, the whole left-hand column doesn’t look square with the rest of the columns.

Yes. It’s the lines that give it away....Look at HGTV the header for several programs use fake ad pages....They use the lines as they appeared in the old time papers. The lines on these two are a dead give away that the announcements were altered.
Adds are created differently than the news....”strippers” cut and paste the ads in place creating the lines.

Linotype would have been used in 1961.
Linotype machines were phased out in the 70s and replaced by offset printing, which used computer-produced copy that was cut, waxed, and adhered to a mock-up of the page, which was then photographed. The full-sized negative was then used to produce the final print.
Were it not for the fact that the horizontal line extends across all columns, not just the one with the Obama birth announcement, I would strongly suspect that the Obama announcement was cut and pasted.
However, that line does reach across columns. No way to tell from here what caused it. Once again, we’d have to see an original newsprint of that date to know.
The Hawaii newspapers almost certainly keep originals in their morgues, but who has access?
