He is REALLY lucky. She could have been the mother of his children. Or vise versa.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but a proposal should be an intimate thing and not shared with 10,000 half drunk hockey fans.

She shouldn't be "shamed" or "embarassed" into marriage. I agree. I think men who do this are insecure in their relationship. They must think asking her in such a public way will ensure that she says "yes." If he really loved her, he wouldn't have put her on the spot like this.

Classless hussy? The guy obviously took a big risk or thought something was going on that wasn’t.

I always wondered what would happen if she said “no.”

Last year’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting ended that way with Warren Buffet’s great nephew proposing to his girlfriend after taking a que from Warren about ‘household formation’ slowly fixing the housing glut.

Well, at least he didn't take her to the NBA All Star game. The rejection would have looked devastating on those 60 yard wide video screens.

The entertainment value alone kinda makes me want to get elected to a city council somewhere.

“Real? Of course not. As Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reported yesterday, the pair are truly a couple and unbeknownst to the Rangers and MSG, staged the hoax for their own jollies.”
Why would such a hoax produce any jollies? Some people are easily amused.

Not that a proposal in front of a crowd has much class. I guess she could’ve said yes out loud and then whispered no in his ear to save him from the humiliation he set himself up for, but she may have been too surprised and angry for the spot he put her in.
