Well, good for her. If she didn't want to marry the guy, she didn't want to marry the guy. She shouldn't be "shamed" or "embarassed" into marriage.

I think it took a lot of guts to walk out and endure the "boo's", but, it's better than living your life with someone you might regret later...or being rushed into it.

I agree. I think men who do this are insecure in their relationship. They must think asking her in such a public way will ensure that she says "yes." If he really loved her, he wouldn't have put her on the spot like this.

If she had been a nice girl - she would have pretended to accept and had a talk with him afterwards. There’s just no reason to publicly humiliate someone.

For the record, I hate those public proposals.

Yeah. . .How dare he ask her. . I mean, come on, she was raking in the attention, letting that poor schmuck pay for everything, riding the gravy train. . .heck. . .he ruined it by asking for commitment and forced an end to the free stuff.
