The problem remains the people of AZ. Polls show McPain with a painful 20-point primary lead. They just go mostly for name ID. The lack of upsets thus far in IL and TX shows that McPain will prevail through November 2. In TX, in fact, the most conservative member of the state Board of Education was narrowly DEFEATED in the Republican primary. The “change” and “hope” is still illusory.

Unfortunately, the American people have no interest in POWs. All they know to do is pull lever for candidates with name ID. And that makes McPain a sure winner again, but a real loser from the standpoint of defending American interests.

[Mirrored your post here. Everyone — Rab is “go-to” on McCain and gives high volume pings.]

McCain has flip-flopped on tax cuts.

VAN SUSTEREN: What would you do right now? In light of the fact that we do have this stimulus bill. It was passed last February. I mean, we do have that. If you were now making the decisions — because we are bleeding jobs, even if it’s better than expected for many people. What would you do right now? How would you change the course?

MCCAIN: You know one of the things I’d do? I would pass what Scott Brown tried to get passed through the Senate just this last week, and that is payroll tax cuts, payroll tax cuts for small businesses, paying for it out of unused stimulus money. I’d cut the corporate tax rate from at least 35 to 25. I would ratify free trade agreements. I would say that we’re going to start over on health care so there’s not that uncertainty out there. I would say that the tax cuts are going to be permanent so that business has a predictable environment for investment in the future. And I would say I’m not going to raise your taxes, just for openers.

There's nothing vain about helping rid the country of its RINO varmints.

Bump to the top.

Some issues are important to a small motivated group.

Vets have been shouting about the POW issue since the internet began. I sure as heck don’t blame them.

It motivates them and should if true. I don’t want to slander McCain, so I am trying to look into it carefully. Nor do I expect Hayworth to say anything. Word can get around like greased lightning these days no matter what a candidate says.

McCain is so transparent that were he to win which he won’t the day after his victory he would be endorsing another supplements bill to take all sups away from people.

It is as if politicians are applying 19th century political techniques to a 21st century citizenry. McCain has a buy-’em a glass of beer for their votes attitude.

The other thing is that he has become lazy not wanting to do the really hard heavy lifting. They think they can get away with cookie cutter politics. McCain is making the same mistake Martha Coakley made. He thinks he has it in the bag and his whole demanor implies it. He wants to coast to the finish line without doing much of anything and collect his prize.

I remember during the lection how he hated his conservative base and he threw us all under the bus. Then a month or two ago he did this interview on Hannity and he just went on and on about how his audience was such a great audience of great Americans and how we were all the future blah, blah, blah.

He went from trashing us to saying that we were great because now he needs the vote. What a weasel!

Michael Reagan:

John McCain Hates Me (McCain hates conservatives)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2466075/posts?page=6

Until last night, when I watched the Republican debate, I had no idea how much John McCain dislikes me and just about everybody else but Rudy Giuliani, who if you believe The New York Times is a pretty good hater himself.

As I watched McCain and Governor Romney go at it during the debate at the Reagan Library I was struck by the huge gap that separates McCain — whose contempt for his fellow humans is patently obvious — and my dad, Ronald Reagan, who had nothing but the deepest affection and respect for the American people.

The feeling is mutual between McCain and me. I don’t like the way he treats people. You get the impression that he thinks everybody is beneath him. [snip]

The Case against McCain for Senate Re-Election

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2466214/posts

In the fall of 2008, McCain left the campaign trail in a near panic to return to Washington where he voted in favor of a bailout despite significant Republican opposition and concerns expressed at the time.

Below is a list of seven of the top 20 (including the top five) donors to John McCain from 2003-2008 as compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. It reads like a who’s who of companies that received bailout cash. In fact, while these companies raised John McCain over $1.7 million, they were bailed out to the tune of some $135 billion.

That is classic McCain.

Support supplements legislation. Ooops! Reverse position because the polling isn’t good.

Now he is not sure about a tax hike. Translation. McCain’s got to do some polling before he knows what to say.

He has got to go.
