Religious posts are in the religion forum. If you don’t like them don’t go there.

All I am questioning are the constant posts wholly consumed by religion in a forum which should be dedicated to political posts. I am religious, but it is weird to me that people feel the need to advocate their religion in the wrong forum. If the people here at “Free Republic,” means spot to debate religion - have at it.

And for the condescending people who think that your post count at FR makes you any less of an advocate, I wont take issue with you, but will question your frame of judgment.

If you think there ain't no religion involved in politics, then you're wrong son. You're dead wrong.

(Yeah, I'm preachin')

You get to pick and choose which threads you want to read.

Freedom, it’s a wonderful thing, aint it?

"If you don’t prefer to read posts regarding religion, then don’t read them. . . . No one forces you to click on them...."

So I click on "News/Activism" [Browse by Forum] and get something that should be "General/Chat" like Why the constant posts on religion?.

Nothing on this website bugs me; too much on this website is wonderful.

Yes when I post on a political thread, I will have a political response. How dare I respond to religion.

Sometimes they also post threads from the General Chat category in the News/Activism section, which annoys me. Sometimes I’d like to complaint, but I know I’d probably just get clobbered, so I just scroll down and ignore them.

Hello. I do not know you. We may have posted to each other in the past but I do not recall. I have no opinion of you personally, but if I may I am going to address your question.

First, you may disagree that we are a Christian nation. Fine, you’re entitled to that pinion. However with a history like ours, replete with religious influence in our founding, the people involved and more its always a subject for correction in my view. Seems that before the mid 60’s this was not an issue. 174 years of religion and our government coexisting fine until liberals came along and started outlawing God.

Second: Religion has a part, even if not the Christian influence. To suggest that a person does not at all allow their religion to influence their motives and actions is ridiculous. To further suggest that they must is beyond ridiculous. You can’t. You are a mixture of all things including your religion.

Third, I am very doubtful that many people in our country have any real education as to what levels of religious (Christian predominantly) beliefs have had on us. Seems that liberals first successful action was to attack the teaching of such factual events and actions just so they could raise up a Godless country and claim its successful because they did so. They lie. Worse, they know it. It is a battle that too many people have sat back and not stood up to be counted for while those who have done so have been torn down and had their character assassinated for trying.

Seems like you keep your beliefs in a box and expect everyone else to do likewise! That’s ain’t going to happen - conservatives LIVE their beliefs!

Ask yourself a few questions:
“How much am I paying for the use of this site?”
“Why are there no advertisements?”
“Is this site government run?”

You'll notice that you are not paying, in any way other than voluntary, direct contributions, for the use of this site.

Jim Robinson, the owner of FreeRepublic, has a link to his statement of purpose for the site on the Home page (which can be accessed by clicking the text “FreeRepublic” in the upper-left of virtually every page on the site). The statement can be reached directly by clicking http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1103363/posts.

You'll notice he doesn't equivocate about his beliefs in God or otherwise.

My observation would be:
This site is not a service to “the public”, but a service “by a Patriot for the republic”. It's a gathering of like-minded individuals, sharing information and perspectives.

If you are not agreeable, then don't participate. If you involve yourself in unwanted ways (as defined by JimRob) you may be banned.

If you think you have a better way, you have the freedom to go create your own site. If JimRob considers it a valuable resource, he may link to it.

You are a rare sane man on this forum in these times. FR religious folks are about as nuts as you can get lately. I’ve been at my wits end regarding some of these yahoos AND THEIR disgusting moderators. It makes me sick. These people are a disgrace. But the politics end is still good.

anybody who claims to have a private line on God should be viewed with profound suspicion. Such a person is either deluded or evil.

And I say that anyone who thinks NO ONE has a personal relationship with God is deluded or evil.

When you said “posts”, did you mean the threads that one opens to read and/or reply to, or did you mean the individual replies within a thread?

Wouldnt a smart guy put up a religious post in a forum called ‘Religious Posts.’ You would put it elsewhere?
