Letter From Robert M. Groves, Director of U.S. Census Bureau
Census Bureau | March 8, 2010 | Vanity

Posted on 03/08/2010 7:32:23 AM PST by HapaxLegamenon

Just received this letter in the mail today:

"About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail... Results from 2010 Census will be used to help each community get its fair share of government funds...

The letter makes no mention of congressional reapportionment which is the real reason for the census under the Constitution.

I guess Census jobs really are keeping the unemployment rate down.

Washington census workers to pocket $20 per hour

excerpt:Some lawmakers questioned the spending of the agency after a report by the Commerce Department’s inspector general last month found that about 10,000 workers were paid a combined $3.4 million just for completing training. And $2.5 million was spent on advertising during the Super Bowl.

excerpt: “You don’t need a Ph.D. or anything like that,” said Fairfax census office manager Odis Graham, referring to the surging number of applicants. “We have been very successful in our recruiting.”

I wonder just how much background checking cost is part of this expense...uh, probably NONE!

We got that really important mail today alerting us that we will be getting that really important census form soon. Idiots!

Supposedly the forms would be mailed in March so why did I have someone calling me wanting to ask me questions in early February.

She said we hadn’t returned the census form. I said I didn’t get one so she wanted me to go ahead and answer some questions. I told her I would wait on the mail, since the form was supposedly mailed.

I called the bureau and told them about it. Then later another woman called and said they had mailed it to the wrong address. Yeah, right. Liars! We’ve lived at this address for 37 yrs. and they can’t find us? Idiots!

Be very careful, or you won’t receive your fair share of Obama’s golden pot.

Dear Robert M. Groves;

I received your letter dated March 8, 2010; exactly ON March 8, 2010. The USPS must value your correspondence highly in order to provide that level of delivery service. I can never hope they will hold my correspondence in as high esteem.

I understood most of that which you were attempting to communicate. Unfortunately, you lost me on the remaining third of the page. You might have your office computers scanned for viruses, Trojans, and malware. It appears as though the last third of your letter may have been printed in Klingon.

Granted, I did not score highly in my high school civics classes. I do not remember having been taught that the census had anything to do with the distribution of a fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs. In my re-reading of the Constitution, I find that the purpose of the census is for the apportionment of Representatives and direct Taxes.

Count us as two, and consider your mission successful.

Sincerely;

RESIDENT and RESIDENT

P. S. One question; who decides how much is a “fair share”?

You’d be wrong, then. Every single person they hire is run through the computer first, AND fingerprinted for the FBI to check. I just had training on fingerprinting people last week.

I have a form. It was left hanging on my door.

1. how many people live here.

2. were there any additional people staying here April 1, 2010 that you did not include in question 1?

3 is it a house or apartment or mobile home

4 what is your phone number

5 provide information on each person living here. starting with the person living here who owns the house or rents it.
they then want to know for each person the sex, age with bd, if person is of Hispanic Latino or Spanish origin, persons race, and does the person live somewhere else sometimes.

repeat number 5 for each person in household

this is probably the short form? Question no. 1 is actually in a box slightly darker then the other questions.

that is indeed the “short form” which is (per a sign in the local office” supposed to be the only form now.
