“They seem to be as persistent as liberals pursuing their Health Care agenda. ;-)”

To: I still care

My theory is the wolves were merely scavenging, after she was hunted and killed by a pack of bunny rabbits.

I think we should let 100 wolves go in Central Park, and make it illegal for New Yorkers to harrass them in any way.

It was Larry Talbot that did it!

Why are they hunting the wolves? They had no comprehension of what they were doing. I thought that's how our legal system works. Certainly here should be a hearing with the wolves represented at taxpayer expense before any final determination.

Yes...wolves being hunted exclusively by the sole arbiters of nature and law—government employees. It will happen again and again.

Here's the definition of environmentalism boilerplate:

[A] retired Fish and Game biologist said the attack was highly unusual. It may be the first documented case of a fatal wolf attack made by healthy, wild wolves in Alaska.

Too bad that they discount untrained accounts of people that actually lived, worked and traveled the land they now think they administer. Not much better in the lower 48 either.

But will the bear read the signs?

It is plenty of reason to kill them. any wild animal that attacks a human needs to kill swiftly.

I would rather have had the victim kill the before she was eaten. But that didn't happen now it is up the the rest to do the job for her.

"Wild animals being wild animals is no reason to kill them. If you jog in their territory all by yourself, you need to know the risk."

Heh. There are plenty of ways to keep predators from bothering livestock or residents without getting in any trouble and making sure that they multiply enough in gaper zones (public areas) to devour the visiting animal worshippers. The lazy retirees/regulators from the coasts will go, too. We're fencing in large parts of the range now. No trespassing.

And they didn’t even read the wolves their Miranda rights . . .

The worse thing is these wolves now have had a taste of human blood. They’ll need to be all hunted down, even moms with cubs if any or they’ll seek out other humans exclusively. That pack has just learned just how vulnerable humans can be, and wolves are smart...they’ll learn how to avoid humans with guns and go after the ones that don’t have guns.

You say that as a joke, but in fact, just now, a website which takes a close and critical view “Palingates”, has a post about ... wolves. And the flaws in Governor Palin’s policies. It must have gone up just before this appalling coincidence of a woman being killed by wolves in Alaska.

My sympathies to Candice Berner’s family.

People should hunt wolves as a method of population control. Attacking and killing a bunch of wolves out on the chain is just stupid.

An Amish family lives by my brother’s hunting property in Northern Minnesota and when the wolf population got out of hand near his farm he hunted the pack down and killed them and then skinned the wolves and tacked the pelts on the door of his barn.
