Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius said today that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is developing a new regulation that would require food manufacturers to display nutritional information on the front of packages.

What next, Obama’s picture on all the cereal boxes?
These whiny ninnies are so unbelievably annoying.
Spanish and Arabic
Would prefer milk cartons for him.
I’d like to see an IQ label tattooed on Sibelius’ forehead. Two digits, I’m sure, would be quite sufficient. Or at least a statement of contents. Which I’d guess to be ALPO.
I want a regulation for Kathleen Sebelious to have “I am stupid” tatooed on her forehead.
what difference does it make where the label is? I hope there is a label on the back stating one must look on the front for the label... "read other end"
Is it me or is the world getting stupider by the minute? If people are so stupid and cannot turn a package, then they really should not be allowed to vote. Then again, if they can't read, it won't matter where the label is.
All the gov is doing is forcing companies to go bankrupt.
I am 50 and over the age now under the O care that I matter so fry me up a big fat juicy hamburger and let me eat what I want!
That's the last time I buy from that manufacturer...even though it was a USA product.
Why do products made in china don't have chinese writings on them?
This is necessary so no one government led corporation can claim to have better peas than another.
I'm sure it's to make it easier to compare products by just looking at the shelf instead of picking up each package.
I kind of agree with the ban on self-labeling, some of the worst food gets self-labeled healthy. But I'm not convinced that government will get the criteria for what makes food healthy correct either.
Next they will ban Tony the Tiger and the Lucky Charms Leprechaun - and I’m not being sarcastic.
I wish one group of manufacturers would simply say: “Nope, we’re not going to do that! We provide FOOD. You provide nothing. Let’s see who wins in the end. We’ll send our improperly labeled food to haiti. “ Delusional, I know, but it would be great.
It is purely a power play. They can insert themselves into yet another industry under the guise of the nanny. They _can_ cost every food processor hundreds of thousands of dollars for a complete label redesign. Also, they can disrupt brand recognition, destroy point-of-purchase shelf appeal and try to reprogram everyone’s shopping and buying habits. We are to be trained to respond to the nutritional information they decide is important and not to whatever
art/psychology/habit we respond to already.
Words cannot express my loathing.

Don’t know what cereal, but I’m sure flakes will be involved.
