Do you prefer a 12-10 ball game where each bullpen is used up and the best hitter is something like 7 for 8 ?
Or do you prefer a 2-1 game where the starters are still around in the late innings ?
Me, I LOVE lower scoring games. And I love when a starting pitcher gets 27 outs :)
Definitely lower-scoring games. (Also HATE the DH)
The best game I have witnessed in a long time was this week when our hitless wonders, the Padres parlayed one crummy single into a 1-0 victory over the Giants. Superb pitching by Pad Matt Latos and tough luck Giant loser Jonathan Sanchez. Sanchez no hit us last year.
‘Tis the season. ;D
My Reds are making your Padres look good. lol
I was able to enjoy Smoltz, Madddux, and Glavine. Does that answer your question?
Love ‘em both. Love all of them.
I have a mancrush on Roy Halladay.’nuff said.
Hey, my Dad’s name was John W. Growing up in Boston in the 20’s and 30’s he was able to see a lot of both kinds of games. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and company could push across lots of runs. On the other hand, Walter Johnson won many one to nothing games. I like em all.
...The score is not important. It’s most about the defense. Long fly balls, hard hit grounders, double plays, even offense stolen bases, slide in doubles. Yea, a good pitcher striking out the biggest hitters. If I had a favorite team, and they came in last, a losing season in the bleachers is better than a good day fishing...
...I love the game...
prefer 7 to 12 total runs
Babe Ruth could pitch too.
PS - The Reds need to work on their base running, eh? :o) Dusty looked like he was going to throw up today.
And the Reds need to learn how to pitch
I like lots of offense, but I also hate the DH. Pitchers SHOULD bat. I love it when they can hit.
how’s the Great American Ballpark? what are your likes and dislikes? just curious :o) We live between the Padres and the Angels. Half the family likes the Padres, half the Angels (my team). Nobody likes the Dodgers - LOL.
100% for a well pitched, low scoring game.
4 1/2 hour high scoring games become tiresome with endless pitching changes, throws to first, antsy kids wanting to go home...
