Would a loss doom America’s chances to advance to the next round? How about a tie? I think a loss by the US would mean we need England to lose this afternoon if we want to advance. 2 wins for Slovenia would put them in the driver's seat for now for Group C.

Would a loss doom America’s chances to advance to the next round? How about a tie? A loss would put it into "doubtful, need help" category. They'd have to win over Algeria, and probably by a good margin, to have a shot, and that's with help.
A draw keeps them very much alive.

I’m not a fan of the coach’s son being on the team at this level of the game. We’ve got Bradley as coach though, and can only hope for the best during this tournament. No sense in tossing him now.

Even if the far-fetched case that England should lose, they won’t lose by 2. We would still be in trouble on goal differential.
And we don’t exactly look like a scoring machine out there.
