When things are tight or otherwise, what do y'all do for extra income?
I sell unnecessary body parts.
Economize on everything, retrench, work a second (part-time) job.
I’m a purger not a pack rat but I do know people who go through their stuff & sell things on ebay.
Somebody out there will buy darned near anything.
I’m an artist, I sell my paintings
Stop spending unless it is related to survival
‘I sell unnecessary body parts.’
So the rumors of you not having a heart are true?
Great thread! I’ve been pondering this myself!
I do the same AND cut out gifts to all EXCEPT my wife and kids under 12 that still appreciate a small gift.
I traded it for a second, backup liver.
I’m with the semi-pro lion taming circuit.
A penny saved is a penny earned. I just look for free stuff and nearly free stuff and pocket the savings.
Instead of buying Brioni bespoke clothing I have to settle on Tom Ford OTR - times are tough.
Plan meals in advance based on what I had bought on sale that’s in the freezer and pantry. Since we have a garage full of a lot of things we never use we barter with folks for things we need. Also barter my stained glass work.
Since I believe you are serious, I will give you some ideas from experience. I know it is a pain, but look for a job in telemarketing. It seems there are always some telemarketing jobs available and you can work them part time. Not a lot of income, and sometimes people can be rude, but at least you are working and not living off the taxpayers. Another idea is to drive a cab, limo, or work for companies that pick up handicapped or seniors. Flexible hours. Tips are nice with the limo companies. I did most all these jobs as extra money earners when my children were in college. Not ashamed to say, I paid my way honestly.
when I spend basically only for food and ammo, it’s amazing how little it takes to get by.
I’m living off my savings until these marxists are neutralized....hopefully, November 2nd.
"Well yes. Yes. Of course, it's a bit of a jump isn't it? I mean, er, chartered accountancy to lion taming in one go. You don't think it might be better if you worked your way toward lion taming, say, via banking..."
:-)
I do several things for ‘multiple streams of income’ as a part-time job.
I am a graphic designer by trade, so I make websites for small businesses.
I also use my gd skills (and hands) and draw/print/install full color vehicle wraps, and cut vinyl graphics.
I also am a videographer, and shoot TV commercials and do some contractual work for companies in this area.
Make sure you begin by creating a budget and sticking to it. Good luck!
Referee high school sports. Listening to the coaches complain is no worse than listening to a wife. :-)
