CONCORD, CA (KGO) -- A 2-year-old Concord boy died Thursday morning after being attacked by three of his family's pit bulls.

The family has five pet pit bulls living in their home on the 1700 block of Trail Creek Court, according to investigators.

The boy was inside the house with two adults and his four-year-old brother when he walked into the garage where the three dogs were located, said Concord police Lt. Jim Lardieri. The remaining two dogs were in the back yard at the time.

Authorities said the three dogs attacked the boy and caused severe injuries. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Not to mention the terrible death rate that occurs in hospitals throughout our country. Time to put a stop to that.

You seem to confuse determining the circumstances involved in an attack
and seeking to educate folks on steps to prevent such attacks,
with excusing it.

Either your emotions are getting the better of your rationality..or...
does it perhaps it makes you feel morally superior to libel folks like that?

the people I mentioned have even told me that there are thousands of dog bites and maims every day but the Media hates pit bulls so they only print out those articles. If you keep track like I do, there is one of these pit bull articles right here on FR at least one a week and some weeks two or three. Now if that is true, and it is, think of all the ones that miss being posted here.

Okay, this is the second time I’ve had a post pulled for pointing out that someone else’s comment is unreasonable. I’m not being obscene or personally attacking anyone, so what am I doing wrong?

Raid Wasp & Hornet Spray.

With a narrow, laser-like beam projecting righteous pain up to 25 feet away it rains down holy hell upon the their mean little beady pit bull eyes. Wrecks their whole day.

Don’t leave home without it.

>>It is never too late to pray for ones soul.<<

I generally agree, as long as the one you are praying for is still in this earthly vessel. Once they are dead it is in God’s hands. But that’s just my opinion based on what I have read in the Bible. I may have missed something, but I’ve not found it yet so, there you go...

According to public health records, which serve only one purpose, to educate about and prevent these incidents, there ARE 13 thousand daily dog attacks, two thousand of which require hospitalization. The media, also driven by one purpose, to make profit, report on the most profitable stories only. They are not a public service, and they are not legally obligated to report every attack, no matter how severe it may be. They are, by many educated members of society, simply another means of entertainment.

Whether you believe they are purposely only printing pit bull attacks or you believe that is all they are finding to report, you must admit that public health is a much more reliable, reputable source of factual information, and that there is a huge discrepancy between what is reported in the media and what is actually occurring in this country.

“I’m so sick of this story....seems like one a week.”

Yes, one human death a week, what you don’t read about in the national news are the hundred plus injuries or the the hundred plus peoples pets killed, the couple dozen dogs killed in the underground fighting rings and the thousands of people who live in fear of the next time their trailer trash neighbors pit bull gets out.
Make vicious dog liability insurance mandatory, hold owners fully responsible for their dogs actions and this breed would go extinct.

I wonder if the parents had posted pictures on the Internet of their toddlers cuddling with the pit bulls before this happened.

“It’s time to spay/neuter this breed out of existence (same with parents like this that would raise little kids around 5 pit bulls).”<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Why? In places that have tried, attacks have not declined. The dogs mauling and killing are simply replaced with other dogs that do the same, because the owners are still the same.

Calgary is the only place I have found that has had success with legislation, and they didn’t ban pit bulls. They changed their laws to make ALL dog owners more responsible, and because of that, they have had a dramatic decrease in attacks. Denver, Colorado has a long-standing ban that has resulted in zero decline in dog attacks. The UK has had a similar situation, only their attacks have dramatically INCREASED since the bans, and they now have more pit bulls than they did before they passed the legislation.

It IS an owner issue. History proves this. Look back at the average number of fatalities before pit bulls became popular. It has been the same for decades, only rising to account for human/dog population growth. The only difference in the numbers over the years has been the breeds involved, which change with the popularity of certain breeds.

There’s no way there’s a death a week. That would put the average at 52 deaths a year, which is way too high. Last year, the total number of deaths was in the low 30’s for ALL breeds.

Well you are not praying for the person any longer because he/she is no longer here. That’s why we pray for their soul.

>>That’s why we pray for their soul.<<

The body is not the person. The body is the Biological Machine they occupy. I think we are in agreement. Where I get confused is that I cannot find in the Bible (other than Jesus bringing Lazarus back from the dead) any instruction in the form of parable or any other means for followers of Christ to pray for the dead. My take is that once they have left this earthly “tent” they are in God’s hands. Any intercessory power we have is severed.

Everyone dies alone.
