Yay!!!! Whew is so right!!

What a scare; now I need to find a way to save info other than attached to the images in Fotki. Until yesterday, I didn’t realize how much of Amy’s Place I could lose.

Have a Terrific Thursday, Luv.

Silence, Please!
September 2, 2010

Our world has become increasingly noisy. But according to a news report, science has found a way to achieve absolute silence: “Scientists have shown off the blueprint for an ‘acoustic cloak,’ which could make objects impervious to sound waves. The technology, outlined in the New Journal of Physics, could be used to build sound-proof homes, advanced concert halls, or stealth warships.”

When we seek out a quiet place for devotional time with God, we may wish we had an “acoustic cloak.” But even if we could silence all external sound, the internal noises of worry would still reverberate in our minds. We are told: “Be still, and know that I am God” (Ps. 46:10). But how do we calm our hearts in practical terms?

God understands our dilemma and has provided His own “acoustic cloak” to quiet our hearts. It involves exchanging our cares for His peace. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7).

As we place our concerns in God’s capable hands, we find a quietness that only He can provide.

Be still and know that He is God
For pathways steep and rough;
Not what He brings but what
He is Will always be enough. —Anon.

God gives peace to those who are quiet before Him.

Read: Psalm 46

Be still, and know that I am God. —Psalm 46:10

Psalms 137-139; 1 Corinthians 13

Happy Thursday, DD.

God Bless and Protect your nephew and niece.
We thank them for their service.
Our young military men and women need our prayers.

I'm looking forward to November when we can spend a few days at the beach.
It sounds like you and your family had a great time.
Will you be going back to Santa Cruz and Monterey or
will you visit another area of our beautiful coast this weekend?

Have a Fun day.

Total absence of sound is disquieting, even our breathing becomes magnified in a way.

The beauty of serene places, birds twittering, streams rolling by gurgling, a bit o wind wafting through the trees, are the elements for having a quiet spirit. some how our inner self begins to be in harmony with the peace of God's creation. I know there are places that are terrifying, volcanoes, the south pole (Antarctica is in trusting god and placing our life in His hands that allows us to be at peace. A quiet spirit, comes when we surrender our life to god and trust Him totally.

Worry changes nothing nor does anxiety, being anxious, is a sign we are attempting to live by our own power and in our actions alone.

Have the trust of a baby. No matter where they are or what is happening, they are able to sleep peacefully and without concern. COLIC being non existent of course. I do not like flying. When I see the peaceful sleep of a baby on an airplane, I turn to God immediately with the trust of a child to a loving Father.

Sorry! I thought I proof read the above posting. Evidently not.

god = God (twice)
and I dropped a line in there somewhere.

No matter.

God help us in our day, ...
Where we are weak give us strength, where we have not ... give to us, where we are not ... make us, where we know not teach us, ... in Jesus name, amen
