For Trisha Rushing Duguay, tragedy arrived suddenly. Death was less hurried.

On Friday morning about 9 a.m., four months after taking her wedding vows, Trisha quietly passed away in hospice, her husband and parents by her side. Just 27 years old, she had continued living, remarkably, for eight weeks after her husband and family had, according to her wishes, removed her feeding tube.

thank you for the kind words. those who knew her realize how special she was, and how blessed we were to have shared what time with her that we were allowed.

They can be tough, but sometimes I’ll check out the thread just because others that have walked this road, in his case camle and djf, also check it out. It has been 6 years since my boys, now 15 and 13, and I lost Mom but we are doing well. We are a family of faith, however, and we know God is with us and has not only a reason for this, but a plan for us.

thanx for the support. as I said, most folks go through life never knowing someone like Linda. not only did I get to know her for many years, but I was allowed a few years of time to know her really well, better than almost anyone. For that short three years, I thank the Big Guy.

when you think of all that I had during that time, it’s hard to complain that it was only three years.

I had nearly 13 years - and got 2 wonderful, energetic boys from it. (See my Freeper page if you like) My oldest was 8 and youngest just turned 7 when we lost her. The boys love to hear the stories of her when we dated and when they were babies. We are doing OK. :-)

If you ever had a family who died of a brain tumor, you would never have posted this ignorant, hurtful comment.

She didn’t die of a brain tumor. She was dehydrated and starved to death.

We do NOT know what SHE requested.

That's only because you didn't read the story

Before the operation, during a 10-day “honeymoon” in her hospital room at North Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Jim and Trisha discussed every possible outcome of her surgery. Both were counting on a positive result. But Trisha made Jim promise: If she were to end up in a vegetative state, with no hope of getting better, he would not let her languish.

If you had ever experienced a situation like the one experienced by this poor young woman and her family, you would know what you're talking about. You repeat your assertion, only proving that you are an ignorant fool.

Well, first of all, you have no idea what I’ve experienced.

But I would never deprive my loved one of sustenance. We’re to care for those we’re responsible for, not murder them.

This young woman was murdered, by cruel and unusual means.
