I don’t know anyone in any of those sorts of groups who believe that a TYPE II error is less deadly.
Perhaps you don’t understand.
WHEN ONE ignores the evidence to an extreme degree to avoid ONE of those errors, that increases to a virtual certainty that one will be victimized by the OPPOSITE type error.
The typical naysayers tend to say that
THERE IS NOTHING THERE
AS A PERSONAL BELIEF, OPINION—IGNORING TONS OF QUALITY EVIDENCE—as though, their personal opinion, belief, WITHOUT considering remotely fair-mindedly, if at all, the evidence—they consider that their opinions are fact.
I don’t know of any of my closer associates in any such groups who have that sort of relationship with a TYPE II error.
