On (1), I tend to agree with you...unless there is something that falls under "other." Of all I have read, you are only the second person who has mentioned the subterranean possibility. Interesting...and good creative thinking!:-)

Considering that caves were common dwellings at that time anyway, one with a very large air pocket (it would need a large supply of oxygen) might have been easily used by some or many enterprising fallen offspring.

As to (2), I should have been clearer. I mean archaeological evidence traceable to those giant tribes in ancient post-Flood Israel.
