Pam, Roscoe chose us 11 years ago as a small puppy who 'showed up' and latched on to our hearts and our home and wasn't going to take no for an answer. The vet said he was about 5 months old, and a Boston Terrier/Heeler mix. He has more personality than any dog we've ever had and everyone said his littermates couldn't possibly have any because Roscoe got it all. So he's a mixed breed.

The white dog (yes, we call him "White Dog" when I'm not calling him Baby Dog) He's 6 years old - we've had him a little over 4 years. He has by far the sweetest disposition of any dog we've ever had, and we've been around him since he was a puppy. His owner was moving into an apartment and couldn't take him. I LOVED that baby and couldn't bear to have anyone else take him away from 'us'! He's an American Pit Bull Terrier (don't gasp! However I was hesitant when our friend bought him, too. Then we watched him grow and became really attached to him) He's a gentle soul and once he brought a baby bird to me that had fallen from its nest - the bird wasn't even HURT - Roscoe would have killed it I'm afraid. It's a difference in their makeup - Roscoe's a hunter. White Dog's a lover. They're both about the same size as far as 'height', but Roscoe's 45 lbs, White Dog's 65. Neither is fat - Roscoe's just not as muscular.

So, there you have it. Story of my two babies. :) Roscoe is worldly, knows his way around outside and what he can or cannot do or investigate. White Dog is sheltered and would have a really difficult time learning how to take care of himself outside. He got too close to a rattlesnake and was bitten because he didn't sense the danger. Roscoe 'knows' not to get close.

We are definately taking over the House - I only wish we could have done the same with the Senate.

I think the message should be getting accross to the Administration - “We have had ENOUGH”!!!

What a wonderful story of Roscoe and White Dog! They both sound AWESOME and I thank you very much for sharing stories about them! So sorry White Dog got bitten by a rattlesnake! Did he have to be rushed to the vets? So scary!

On a smaller note a long time dim state rep just lost in a sure dim district..beatern by a a newcomer Republican woman..Local reporters in shock..

It just shows how upset the state generally is with dims in general.

WE have had ENOUGH.
I never bought the tsunami projections..or that we would take the Senate..so far I am generally pleased...disappointed here and there..

"O" is divisive. He is PARTISAN - unlike any President has ever been. He calls the Republican/Conservative/Tea Party the "ENEMY"

Obama calls Conservatives/Republicans - ENEMY

And, then he also said, "Republicans can join us, but they gotta sit in the back"

Anybody pick up any racism in this statement? Republicans must sit in the back!

He will NOT unite our country - our Congress our Senate - his intention is to DIVIDE! (Anybody thinking Yanks and Confederates?)

I pray we don't allow him to start a war between parties, as he wants!

Darn ... the polls here closed at 8:00 and Fox called it for Brown and Boxer at 8:05.

I had hoped to be celebrating a Boxer loss tonight. We sure have some stupid voters in California. This state is bankrupt and they continue to vote in these far left liberals.

Taking the House is still a huge win.

Thank you, pam. Yes, I rushed him to the vet, and it was the scariest thing - he had apparently been curious about the rattler and 'sniffed' at him - he was bitten just under his lower lip. I hardly let him out of my sight when we go out, but it happened quickly and I didn't see it.

I can only imagine the pain he was in, as it swelled up like a baseball before we got 5 minutes from the house. Fortunately the vet is only about 15 minutes from our house (10 if I ignore the speed limit and can make green lights, and intersections without traffic)

The vet assured me that over 90% of dogs bitten in the face survive a rattlesnake bite, and getting through the first night was key and to call him the next morning to see how the anti-venom treatment was working. He kept him 5 days and when I picked him up, poor thing looked like a pelican! That's how much fluid and swelling was in his neck and chin. That was the first year I heard there was a rattlesnake vaccine - it was also the worst year for rattlesnakes, according to the vets, that we had ever seen here! Of course, now he gets the vaccine & boosters every year. And Pam, I know how much we ALL love our pets. We all have stories. :)

Boy, you asked. LOL!

I only hoped for a miracle in your state...but was not counting on it..

My sympathies...

We are doing well in Texas.
Of course we have some stupid voters in Dallas, Austin and Houston..
Dim Eddie Bernice Johnson is winning big in Dallas (Representative )..She gave scholarships to family and friends..Did not know it was wrong..LOL repaid the monies.

Amy, California and New York are such tough states to wrestle 'free' from the dems. On Fox News earlier this evening, they were saying that those two states are so heavily controlled by unions, who are of course in bed with the democrats, that it's almost impossible for Republicans to crack them. :(

John Boehner is getting choked up right now in his speech. Bless his heart.
