The media queen told a group of graduates at the Howard University commencement Saturday that her grandmother’s wish was that Oprah would someday work for some “good white folks.” How the tables have turned, said Oprah, now that those “good white folks” are working for her. Oprah’s grandma worked as a servant in Mississippi in the 1950s, and the younger Winfrey has often invoked her as an inspiration and a guiding force in her life.

I agree. I like W. It’s also funny that the media keeps branding the tax-cuts as ‘Bush’s Tax Cuts’ - constantly reminding ‘the folks’ that Obama and the dems want to raise their taxes. When they’re extended they will never ever be democrat or Obama tax cuts. And if they don’t extend them - they will be DEM & Obama tax hikes.
From what I saw of that interview it was very cordial and W was relaxed and honest. Likeable. Good hearted. Forgiving. He’s a good man even if his some of his policies are not to my liking. The criticism from the left was unjustified and absurd. And to the extent his appearance (and the kiss) walk-back the unreasonable hatred that the hypnotized sheeple-ettes had for him, it’s a good thing.

Just because one here is willing to criticize Bush for his failures or shortcomings hardly we means we “hate” him.
Bush was generally well supported here once elected and did ok till the wheels started coming off a bit at a time with CFR, Assault Weapons ban..which never got the chance, Drug bill, Education, Katrina,...the big one Amnesty and the Economy
He was lauded for his war effort and his judicial appointments as well he should have been.
I supported him bigtime twice but by the time he left he surrendered a disintegrated base and softened up GOP and a sea of mindless indepependents ripe for lefty persuasion. he just seemed to drift after Katrina.
Bush is a classic example of why not to abandon your base.
