Heartbreaking Thriller: Blame Beats Zenyatta
The Blood-Horse ^ | Saturday, November 6, 2010 | Eric Mitchell

Zenyatta's history-making winning streak ends by a nose to Blame in a thrilling $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) (VIDEO) under the lights at Churchill Downs Nov. 6. Blame is a homebred son of Arch for Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider.

“To be filled with anticipation and see it come through is a feeling can’t describe,” said Seth Hancock, president of Claiborne Farm, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year.

With the Classic, Blame won his third grade I race of the year. Earlier he won the Stephen Foster Handicap and Whitney Handicap, and he finished second in the grade I Jockey Club Gold Cup. Blame will now be retired to stud at Claiborne with a lifetime record of nine wins in 13 starts, six of the wins in graded stakes.

The final time was 2:02.28.

I’ll say that the surest bet in racing/breeding is that she WON’T go to Curlin. :-)

A fine pick. Mr. Prospector, Seattle Slew and Northern plus Secretariat and Spectacular Bid. And two crosses of Dr. Fager. Fairway Flyer, Magnolia, etc. I considered him for about 30 minute.
I would like to see her be the dam of the best horse alive.
Nice to see you.

I don’t Jason’s way of discussing it. It’s “I’m right and you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
I like Blame but he’s only got the Classic and the Whitney to brag about.
If Zenyatta won, that it, she’s the HOF. Goldikova has the three BC Mile wins and 5 G1s this year.
I think I would pick Zenyatta but I wouldn’t get in a bar fight over it.

I stayed out of this particular argument. Wouldn't upset me either way. Both are deserving. On another site, I did suggest Goldikova, to me, the best racehorse in the world.

Not I, but both her parents were born in this country so she’s ok.
