“Well congratulations on not letting people put their past in the past.”
Dude this thread isn’t about Vick. There are LOTS of criminals in the NFL, many worse than Vick.
Cheap shots happen in every game. Throw a flag and quit whining about it.
Yep, hence my comment the player shoulda stayed on the field of play.
people make mistakes
Hmm, doesn’t look like a trip to me. I was expecting him to stick his foot out. The Jet coach appears more like he’s holding his ground.
I didn’t say anything about Vick. You said you don’t hire anybody with a record, which means you don’t let people put their past in the past.
Usually the coaches aren’t the ones throwing the cheap shot. And the refs didn’t see it so no flag was thrown, but the guy will be fined by the league. Nobody is whining, except maybe the guy who keep talking about all the “bad” people in the NFL.
Not quite a Tommy Lewis/Dicky Moegle moment, but Alosi does get his 15 minutes in the spotlight.
Great reference!!!
“You said you dont hire anybody with a record, which means you dont let people put their past in the past.’
Actually since my business involves computer security and access to sensitive information for commercial and govt customers I am required by law to conduct back ground checks in many cases. In other cases I’m required by contractual obligations. Few people in my industry commit felonies and stay in the industry.
Lots of people are whining, you especially.
Pointing out your hypocrisy isn’t whining. On the other hand coming onto every sports thread you see and talking about all the criminals in that league is most definitely whining.
“Pointing out your hypocrisy isnt whining.”
What hypocrisy is that? The fact that I don’t like felons whether they are in the NFL or in my workplace?
C’mon, you should be able to find a better answer than that.
“On the other hand coming onto every sports thread you see and talking about all the criminals in that league is most definitely whining.”
Would you like some cheese?
nobody is perfect, but this guy should step down and find another line of work.
Yaaaaaawn. Nothing but personal attacks now. Come back when, if, you actually have something useful to say.
Meanwhile most work places will still have convicted felons in them, whether you can admit it or not.
Of course, most work places have convicted felons in them.
But that is far different from saying that it’s perfectly OK for convicted felons to be in most work places.
Sorry, but I’m with driftdiver on this one.
Really? He stood his ground on the sideline OUT OF BOUNDS.
He didn’t whip his leg out to trip the guy - he didn’t stick anything out further than it was to begin with, he just didn’t move out of the way.
At least, in the video I saw.
Now, was it smart? No. Should he be disciplined? Yes. If the other guy wants to sue for any lost time/wages, I’d say yup, he’s got grounds.
But the player was OUT OF BOUNDS. On the other teams sideline. He should have re-entered the field of play immediately - then continue on down for the return.

I’ll wait to hear what Mike Ditka has to say!
Why wouldn’t it be OK for ex-cons to have jobs? Certain jobs as they relate to certain crimes it makes sense, you don’t want a convicted embezzler running the books, but there’s no reason said embezzler shouldn’t have a job that’s far away from the accounting department.
There’s a built in assumption in our justice system that when you finish your sentence you’re done with punishment. Your attitude continues the punishment indefinitely, a person who did time in their 20s still shouldn’t, according to you, be in most work places when their 50. And remember what it takes these days to be a convicted felon, any misdemeanor done across a state line can make you one. Since Vick was brought up it’s good to remember that he’s a felon NOT because of killing dogs, but because there was gambling in multiple states. If you’re on some poker website that’s not on the up and up you could wind up a convicted felon the same way, should we not allow you in most work places? It’s silly, put the past where it belongs, don’t turn it into an albatross people have to carry around forever.
“But that is far different from saying that its perfectly OK for convicted felons to be in most work places.”
ESPECIALLY when those felons are being held up as examples for our children.
So getting all bent out of shape by a cheap shot in a game full of cheap shots is a waste of time.
I suspect your eyes are Brown!
Most felonies are committed by people with criminal backgrounds.
Of course this has nothing to do with the thread. Nor does Vick’s history of killing dogs.
This coach doled out a cheap shot at a player who was out of bounds. Was it stupid? yes. Is it a crime? No, and all the wailing that he should be fired and banned from the NFL is laughable.
This stuff happens in every game, if they started firing people they would run out of people pretty darn quick.
