Who's got it and what do you think of it? What is there in the way of competition?

If I get lucky one day they’ll put up the Morse series for streaming, and if I get *really* lucky they’ll do so this winter! >8oD

I agree, lately I’ve been using Redbox for new releases, versus waiting for the movies to pop up in my Netflix queue.

The biggest downside to the streaming is not all the new releases are available, but that ends up not being a big deal for me since Redbox is down the street for me as well.

There’s a really old Sci-Fi flick I once caight on a Night Owl movie show, where everyone on the planet hears a voice at the same time, and they think it is the voice of God declaring the end of the world is nigh...Do you know what it is?

True, they are constantly adding new titles, but there are some gaps, especially in the new releases. For instance, you can’t stream Inception, but we don’t find that to be a problem since there’s still a ton of content and we use Redbox if there’s something we’re dying to see right away.

One downside to Redbox (and Bluebox [Blockbuster]) is having to wait 30 days for new releases, but we’re used to that now, so it isn’t that of a big deal either.

When the tv has nothing on it, (which is so often) I watch Netflix movies on my laptop. I also get movies by mail because the online selection is not as diverse as the regular.

My husband got hooked watching the current seasons on our local PBS station. So he went back and started with Season 1 (via Netflix) in order to “catch up.”

He also has commented that they have no problem “killing off” a star. But I’ve often noticed (in watching other British series and miniseries) that some of their actors have gone on to other things, which makes me wonder if the actors want to move on, or the writers want them to move on.

I’ve had Netflix for years. I used to have the 3 DVD at a time package, which was great. Now, I have switched to the one DVD package because we stream most movies through the WII. Love that too.

I like being able to stream movies on the laptop when traveling. I hate paying the outrageous prices at hotels.

We canceled Netflix because they just jacked up the rates for DVD rentals and we don’t have the bandwidth for streaming which is what they’re trying to herd their subscribers into.

Redbox rentals at $1.00 a night will do just fine for us until technology catches up to us, if ever.

My sons got me a BluRay for Christmas and a subscription to NetFlix ... pretty slick “process” for sending/receiving the DVDs ... and quick. Lots to choose from. And when you surf and there is NOTHING on TV ... the instant queue is great ... you’ll almost always find a movie to watch. I like it, never have been a big movie fan (or fan of the jerks in Hollywood that make them) ... so this is “different” for me.

I love Netflix. I just went there and added the series “Connections”. They’re fast and I’ve had no snags with them for the last year.

I didn’t like them when we lived in Arizona six years ago. The disks arrived damaged way too often and I gave up on their service. We decided to give them another chance and haven’t been disappointed.

We recently cut our Direct Tv to the basic package. We bought a Roku device which allows us to play Netflix & Huluplus on our television.

We use it everyday.

I might watch a movie on the tv and the wife will watch Korean soap operas on the computer.

The only improvement is would be to make everything available via streaming, as I doubt if we'll ever have Netflix send us a DVD.

I don’t recall that one but it is interesting how one will stick in your mind.

When I was around 6 years old, we saw one at the movie. It was “Invaders From Mars”. I thought it was great and could remember bits and pieces for 30 years when I saw it again.

I was disappointed that it didn’t live up to my expectations tho when I saw it a third time, I realized it was in fact pretty good. I had just built it up in my mind so high that no movie could equal that.

When I saw it again, it was clear that it really was a good movie.

Block Buster charged me almost seven dollars for a movie once. I never went back. I like to choose a movie online to pay for on a one on one basis. I pretty much went through all of Netflix’s movies I wanted to see so I couldn’t see paying the monthly fee.

You might want to try out iTunes. They charge by show/episode.
I did that route with the first season of Primeval, but at a $1.99 it can start adding up pretty quickly.
