I am re-reading Atlas Shrugged and I am appalled at how this “fiction” is telling a story, and I look at the news and see it happening in real life.

The water is already boiling around us, and we are the frogs smelling dinner.

I wish I could say how sad I am that the commentators will be talking about nuances of this address and debating over whether his policies will be helping competitiveness “enough.”

In truth and in fact, this president, and those of his ilk, has been the most destructive force to America's competitiveness that I have ever seen or read about.

Our government runs the major industries in our nation, and what it does not run, it shuts down, or runs out of the country. We export our jobs, our talent, or creativity, and our capital. We destroy initiative in the name of helping those less fortunate.

We blame the producers in this country for being good and having the talent to produce, and we hold those values to be greed and avarice.

We are so sunk.
