Luv, I have heard there are some major fires in N. TX. Hope none are near you!

There are several fairly near, Yorkie....
There was a 15,000 acre one south of Midland on Saturday that
is now under control. Lots of folks were evacuated and are now
back at what homes are left.
There is a 70,000 acre one at Ft. Davis that is just devastating. Many structures burned.
There is a rather large one near Alpine...not contained yet.
There is a new one near Iraan that is sending smoke...because
of the high wind...all the way up here. Our town looks
hazy because of it and I can smell the smoke.
There have been numerous ones around the edges of town but
they have been taken care of, thank goodness!
It’s very scary. :(
Life is short, so deciding what to do first is important.
Priorities and Payoffs
A misleading ad said: “Life is short; eat dessert first.” Young people often try to cram so much partying into their lives that they never learn how to really live. The Bible warns against the attitude: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!” (1 Corinthians 15:32; see also Matthew 24:37-51). Sometimes the eating, drinking and merrymaking does kill a person!
Our Creator intended humans to enjoy life (Ecclesiastes 9:7-10). He also gave us laws to live by for our good (Deuteronomy 6:24-25). If we plan, observe, learn and live with an eye to the consequences of our decisions, setting the right priorities in life, the life we live will be one of contentment, fulfillment and accomplishments.
Problems and troubles will always come, and so will death, but we can choose to live the time we have well or poorly. When our priorities are properly set, we can enjoy the dessert at the right moment, and really relish it.

Most of us can’t imagine how dry it must be when having so little or no rain during the winter. A true drought! Prayers continue!
I’ve been reading about the fires in Texas, too, Luv. Its just terrible. I never have realized that Texas is as dry as you’ve described it. One part of the country is so wet that they have horrible floods that wash away homes and people and in Texas and California, they have so many fires and California has those awful mudslides.
I guess during these times, all we have to do is remember Japan and those poor gentle people.....who have nothing!
OMG, that is AWFUL, Luv! I knew there were some - but had no idea it was this bad! A wildfire is SO frightening - especially when there are high winds. Stay safe!

Thank you for your prayers. So far all that’s been lost is
property, which while devastating, it isn’t like losing a life.
I didn’t even list all the minor fires that have popped up.
All it takes is a careless smoker or a spark from anything
and this dry, dry foliage just nearly explodes into flame. :(

This is so terrible..We got a half inch of sorely needed rain Sunday night here in Central Texas..and every little bit helps..The drought in Texas is really taking a toll.Stay safe, LUV.

Thanks! The only way I would be affected is if one flares up on my route to work...20 miles on a rural highway.
